Jonathan Cheechoo gets his 50-51th.

I was just listening to TV when i saw Cheechoo scoring his 50 and 51th goal of the season. WOW. I'm from the east and we all know about Jagr, Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, and even Gagné but i had no clue Jonathan Cheechoo scored that much in the west! Are there any other players i'm missing here?

thats what i've noticed. He scored the 50th and 51st here in phoenix...i was at the game. Thornton really is an unbelievable playmaker, he rarely makes a mistake.

That's a pretty common misconception about Cheech. It really does take a guy to finish the play, and his shot is RIDICULOUSLY quick. Plus he continues to hustle to rebounds and gets a lot of grit goals. His last couple of hat tricks (I never thought I'd say that about Cheechoo...), were all him.

It takes guts to get to 50 because along the way players start paying extra attention to your game and make you pay the price for the last 20. There are no soft 50 goal scorers.
