Composite Butt End

Recommended Posts

I've never used it but, unless you have exceptionally large hands, you'd probably prefer the Oggie Grips. They are just slightly thinner than a shaft, which is a better fit for most of us. Beyond that, they have built in flex which causes harder shots.

Is Inlinewarehouse the only place that sells the composite butt ends. I want one that isn't intended for use with a bauer stick, i'm trying to put one in an Easton or a Mission.

The butt ends are similar to blades. For the most part they'd be interchangeable and it wouldn't matter if they are too small, since you could add tape, but if they were too large they could put stress on the shaft.

TPS will retail them in late spring. They have a couple different sizes, they should be able to be found in the catalogue. I get a bunch of them from people who buy stealths and want it out. They don't break at all, they are significantly lighter than the wood ones, the TPS ones I think will retail for around $20 which is A LOT.

Yea, I've seen these come standard in OPS but never sold individually but it was only a matter of time.

I'd use one but I'm sure not going to pay $15 +shipping for what is essentially a 3 ounce weight drop... But lord knows a lot of people out there would!

I asked at my LHS if they sold them, they said no. I then asked if they had any and they produced one for me, free of charge. I've got it in my Synthesis shaft. I honestly can't feel a difference, but I need all the help I can get. Plus it looks cool.

are these ones hollow all the way through including the hosel area? are the easton ones hollow?

Yes, I don't know if I'd file it though. I love all of mine, I've got a whole bunch lying around and one in ever one of my sticks.

I'm assuming those of you who are filing it are doing so to make it fit better, but that obviously decreases the strength slightly. If you want something that fits better and actually increases strength, try a Classic Grip, since it's the closest to your current stick. (The Ergo is much different from anyone's current stick, but I like it better.)

Believe me, in a couple of years you guys will finally get around to trying it and wondering why you waited. :D

Jason, could you let me know what online vendors currently carry the Oggie Grip? I think I'm ready to try it. Thanks in advance.

I noticed how that Bauer end plug from inlinewarehouse.com is hollow. I have a Bauer Vapor XXX which I put one of those in and I just added the Bauer end plug to it so the stick isn't hollow.

-Does anybody know if the Easton Stealth end plugs are hollow after you cut them? If so, would the Bauer rubber plug fit into it from there?

Yeah they are hollow, all the way through. You could jam one into it. I did.

I doubt oggie grips make you shoot harder, by "flexing".

My shafts are 50½ inches and I play with 51½, so If I were to use a oggie grip I would have to cut 5 inches of my shafts, and then insert the 6'inch oggie's....

Uh and my shaft flexes too...

Can't really see why it should make you shoot harder, care to explain Jason?
