Are you talking about if you asked the players who has the most respect around the league...I think Koivu is respected throughout the league. Sakic as well. And, outside of the splinter group in the PA...Trevor Linden. But I in a survey of the players...Yzerman, hands down.

If you are talking about who the fans love most...I doubt you'd get a definitive answer...

Ovechkin wins in my book as most likeable....you can tell he's like a kid in a candy store...he's lovin' it (Sorry McDonalds)

Who penguins fans (like me) like - Crosby

Who most people on here hate - Crosby

Most admired/respected player by the players-Yzerman and Sakic (Ovechkin is admired just as much as the latter, but I'm not sure that some of the players respect him as much as the veteran skaters)

I'm not sure what the question is asking either.

On the Linden issue, I've heard he's at the bottom of Vancouvers internal problems. Someone called him "teflon Trevor" because he's at starting all of the crap and none of it is sticking to him.

I was not aware...I thought it was Bert/Nas versus the rest of the room.

Some people believe that he is the voice for the rest of the room

I saw an interview with him on Sportsnet and he said it is a burden to wear the C, but there is a lot of pressure since they aren't doing too well, and he said "If the team and coaching staff can think of someone eligible and more suitable for the Captain by all means, give it to him" or something along those lines

You obviously haven't have the privelege of him being on your favorite team ;) The guy is a work horse. If anyone hates him it's because he's hard to play against, especially along the boards. As far as the "C" goes. Shane Doan has been wearing the "C" in Phoenix, so unless Ricci been's traded after the deadline, that must have been VERY old interview. Either that or I've been watching a different version of the NHL! :o

And the most missed!

Imagine the Sharks if they had Ricci right now!

I wish Nabokov didn't have that no-trade clause in his contract, I'm sure Phoenix would give Ricci. Then again, can't judge Nabokov on half a season of below average play (or can I?)

I think I read an article about how Doan and Ricci hated each other's guts. Should that disqualify both?

Probably, assuming the article was correct and the writer was not just coming to their own conclusions from statements made out of context. I find it hard to believe that Ricci would have that kind of dynamic with anyone. My guess is if one of them is moved during the off-season it could be an indicator.

It also sounds like Ricci was responding to a comment regarding the team not doing well and whether someone other than Doan would make a better captain. Ricci's always backed the organization he's been with, at least in public, so I think it's more a case of Ricci giving a "stock answer". He's been around long enough to know what questions to dodge in during interviews. I've seen him dodge plenty that, IMOHO were inappropriate, putting him in an awkward position and should he have a "non-popular" opinion on the issue, to answer directly would put him into the ranks of JR & Brett Hull. A spot he would really rather not have. Mind you I love JR's frankness and I miss Hull's blunt humor.
