Warrior's Smyth pattern

Recommended Posts

I know that somebody posted that its the Pro Kovalchuk pattern. But can somebody confirm that? Does anybody have a warrior stick with the smyth pattern?

Because on warrior's site it lists it as a Lie 4. I've had Kovie's blades before and i'm pretty sure they were not that low.

Not sure if his Innos changed, but these are his BNH blades and they have a good amount of shovel on them:

I'm waiting to get one of these blades, they look perfect for me. I think it'll play about a lie five because the fedorov dolomite I picked up and tapped around at the LHS felt exactly like a modano/forsberg and the patters that are reportedly fives, such as the Draper, felt higher, like a 6 or a 5.5 maybe, just like the Sakic.

I doubt Smyth or Fedorov blades will play like 4s. Can't tell for sure yet though.

Sorry but I don't believe much of what they say about lies. They said the Gonchar was a 5 and it's more like a 7.

Wow, that's just bad work by Inno/Warrior.

oh well, i bit, i bought the smyth pattern dolomite. I hope it is the kovalchuk because i used it a few seasons ago and the pattern is awesome. Takes some time to get used to because of the longer blade and curve. But i'd highly recommend.

if warrior has a pattern listed at 5, add .5, so its really like a 5.5

They list the Smyth at a 4.

makes sense, kovy's stick definitely looks liek a very low lie. i cant tell the difference from a 4 to 4.5 on a tv - but it looks like its at least as low as a modo. i would belive its a 4.5 on the easton scale. on the warrior website the drury and sakic clones are listed as 5.0's. is the robataille a mccarty? cause that was a 5.5 before wasnt it? now its a 5. i heard some people say the mogilny was a 5 lie and warriors weight is a 4.5. jovo is a lidstrom, listed as a 5.0. i think they are intentionally trying to be different, assuming no one really knows their lies. eastons dont match up with whatever bauer/ccm/sherwwod are using. those three seem to be the same. ccm and sherwood are im pretty sure.

Mack, have you seen anywhere besides that place in alaska to get some kovy pro blades?

Hockey Giant may have had them, but he hasn't used them in some time so I doubt they're still around. At least now his pattern's widely available in composite form once the Warrior blades get out.

so is the smyth lie lower than the easton frosberg/modano or just about the same?

i would guess below it, by .5. the difference between an iginla to a modo.

Cheesehead, is the adjustment on the Fedorov like it would be going from a 5 Forsberg to a 4.5 that is otherwise very similar?

Finally got my Warrior Smyth pattern....It is exactly Kovalchuk's pattern so that's awesome. The feel of the stick is amazing. The lightest stick on the market perhaps?

The lie on the stick is definitely not a 4...I think its probably closer to a 5 or maybe 5.5 since its somewhat rockered.
