I asked for an ID on this shaft at another board, I was told it is an Ultralite. Can anyone confirm this?

If so, where can I order one online in Canada?

I've done some searching, but I can't locate a blue Ultralite exactly like Kariya has.

Thank you

Bauer_Freak, still trying to figure out what you mean with "buy it regular".

Do you mean that there is a Pro Stock Ultra Lite available in stores, but you cannot buy a regular Ultra Lite?

You can buy the brown, green or white Ultra Lite in stores because they are retail models. The brown is old so it will be hard to find, the green is just being replaced this year so it should be on sale and the white is just starting to show up.

The black Ultra Lite that Kariya uses was made specifically for him and can't be bought unless his are being sold, which I am 99.9% sure is not the case.

I had a 'pro stock' UL that I bought at a Canucks Equipment Sale a few years ago. It was Steve Kariya's and it had the non-Focus Flex Z-Carbon blade and the shaft was listed as a 95 Flex.

Thanks for taking to the time to explain that, clears it up for me.

I bought this Sakic blade, looking for a high quality dark blue shaft to match up with it. Any recommendations besides the Cyclone or ZBubble?

Check out the review section, and search around a bit. There's alot of info on different sticks. Salming is having a sale, try and see if he has anything left. I have one of the one-piece sticks and they are great. If not, closeout shafts are generally a good way to go.

you could always go with the old ultra carbon. It is not as good as an ultra-light but it will do if you really care that much about having your blade match your shaft. And I beleive it was dicussed in an earlier thread that Pauls stick is black

oh lol at least it isnt that mankey green colour

Personally, I like the green Ultra Lites. I have two of them plus a brown one that waits for the day it will be put into use.

Hahaha, I knew that was coming.

I play twice a week, not that great of a player but I want to have at least one high end stick. I love the curve on the Sakic blade, figured I'd buy a nice shaft to go with it.

I have the same blade (but Lidstrom curve) in a z-bubble, it works, that blade is durable as hell.

When they first changed to that design I broke two of them in less than a week.

wow.. 2 in a week? maybe I got the strongest one off the assembly line. It's holding up fine, I've actually gone through 2 of them, the first one started cracking just above the heel, but I thought it was a fluke and got another, that one has lasted quite some time.

edit: Chadd, were you referring to the UL blade or the Z-bubble shaft from my post?

The black and blue UL blade. I broke one on the first shot, one of my friends broke his on his second. I tried one more and it broke in my second game.

i really like them too, i had all different modell years and colours and i will have a new one for next season, perfect shaft for me.

i would prefer the next years modell would be black like the custom ones, but there would be no big chance to get them. besides the performance i like at the ul´s, lookin cool isn´t too bad.

Imagine the new ul´s with a woodblade! would look great, like old sherwood´s or chimo´s or for those who still know torspo sticks, the were all white.

I used Easton Kariya blades for years back in early 2000's.

Does anyone know what would be a equivalent blade today?

Thanks!

There is no equivalent from any major brand.
