CCM supertacks question

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me the major differences between the older 852's and 952's to the renamed 892's and 992's. There is a major difference in price on the older 52's and the newer 92's. Are the newer models worth the extra hundred bucks? Thanks in advance.

Yes, they are worth the increase in price. The new x92 series is much better than the last couple years x52 series.

i have a pair of 04 852s and the 2 big things i noticed about the 2 styles were the holder of course and how high the boot goes up the ankle. i prefer the lower cut boot of the 852 but like the holder a lot better on the 892. hope i helped

Does anyone know what difference in weight between the CCM E-Blade Pro blade holder and the Prolite 3 blade holder? Also which one would you consider to be better?

Prolites broke very easily.

Prolites broke very easily.

I found that the pro-lites were also more flexible, and my son (11) has broken 2 prolite holders.

I would say it's personal preference. I had a puck brake my E-pro holder on my Externos and decided to switch to a Prolite3 holder like I had on my old Tacks. I haven't had a problem with either set of Prolite3 holders breaking on me, they got some scrapes, but nothing that I wouldn't expect from normal wear and tear. I'm one of the few people that seem to like the Prolite3 holder, guess I'm just weird that way.

what about weight? are they similar in weight?

I tend to hear both sides... some say the prolite is really durable and some say that it breaks rather easily.

Next time you see a pair of Pro Lites, squeeze the toe of the holder...very flexible, and if you take a shot right there, it'll break.

E-Pro is stiffer, but the PL3 is lighter.

okay I'm sorry and I don't mean to sound mean if this comes off this way, but if the small difference in weight on your feet is so much that it's going to cause you a problem, I would suggest going to the gym and working hard on your core and lower body.

That being said JR's got it right on as always. the E-Pro is a little bit heavier and stiffer than the Prolite.

I could feel the PL3s buckle at the toe when I stopped or turned hard.

I have the pro-lite 3 on my 2004 pro tacks, its held up ok for about a year and a half but is pretty banged up and about time for me to get new holders, I'm thinking of going LS or LS2 when these crack.

I've been very lucky with the Pro Lites. I've been using several sets of them the last 5 years, and never had one broken...
