New Visor

Recommended Posts

I just picked up a Oakley Pro Straight Small Visor aka the Crosby Visor... I have a CCM 852 lid and just didn't know if there were any tricks to getting it on right.... Yeah I know this probably sounds totally stupid and I did do a search but I couldn't find anything about the 852.

With screws into the holes on the side of the helmet.

On a serious note, you will have slightly force it to line up properly, just the screws hand tight all around while getting it on then decide how far you want it from your face and tighten the screws up snugly but not tight.

After that decide on the angle and tighten up fully.

Yeah I guess that was really my question, was how tight to put it on, I didn't know if I needed spacers or anything...

The Itech visor came with spacers and I have an Itach helmet. I had Oakley on CCM before and didn't have a problem, no spacers required.

You can do it without the spacers, but see if you can get some spacers are longer screws from your LHS. That way their isn't so much stress put on the helmet and visor.

well, the package comes with the spacers. I took a couple shots of my 652 helmet to show that even with the spacers, it still pulls slightly on the shell of the helmet, maybe for the 852 it will be different, I never actually noticed this until I looked at it from the under side and don't feel it is or will ever be a problem.

I use an Oakley modified straight on a 1052 helmet. Its not too bad to attach the oakley visor to it, it is going to pull the sides out a little but thats not a problem. Just follow the instructions that come with the visor, if you do that you shouldnt have too much of a problem. If you need any help PM me.

Not to steal your thread but I am getting a Bauer 8000 helmet. I was looking at a the itech pro wave or strait cut. Or the Oakley aviator and modified strait. Will these fit the helmet right? Are there any others I should take a look at?
