Z-Bubble Question

Recommended Posts

my friend gave me a z-bubble shaft he used for a couple of weeks but he bought a few other sticks and doesn't use it anymore.

i have a two questions about it:

1. the shaft makes a kind of clanking sound. nothing is visibaly broken that i can see but it still sounds kind of weird. any clue what it might be? and can i fix it?

2. what's a cheap, affordable, easton blade that i can use for it that costs less then thirty bucks US?

thanks

that rattling might be some excess glue that dried in tiny chunks in the shaft. i'm sure its fine though.

the glue could have dried and fell from any thing you put in the shaft. ie:extension or blade. and it will slide up and down in the shaft. just take out your blade and it will slide right out most likely.

i have a z bubble shaft and i had a noise coming from inside the shaft and it was caused by a piece of dried up glue... no big deal to correct, just take the blade off and shake it out.

as far as a cheap blade, i prefer wood blades so i have used easton pro lami hybrids (i think thats the name) and jofas cheap wood blade in the IW banana pattern. both of these blades are cheap but they have held up so far.

i think the ultra lites are around 30 bucks, not sure... and i think the ultra graphite ones too... the ultra lites are the exact opposite of their name though...

Keep in mind that a lot of times, shafts break from the inside, outward, because of the sound waves (energy) created from a slash.

As far as a blade, what about the Easton Hybrid? TPS Crossfire? Vector V60?

The CCM 1152, Koho 3390 type blades are very durable and should be in that price range.

UPDATE:

I cleaned out the shaft and its still making that noise. Kind of a tapping sound comming from inside the shaft.

And I bought a Easton Hybrid blade.

The last thing I could think of is if the endplug (if you have one) may be loose like a blade gets. I tried out a new shaft today and its plug was loose, so a little tape and it's right as rain.

The Focus Flex is a gimmick. It doesn't actually work, so the answer is no, it's fine to use in a Z-Bubble.

ya a marketing !"/$ lolzzz thanks 4 the confirmation

the only thing i can think of is loose glue inside or a loose blade/endplug

re the zcarb bubble combo.

i like the zcarb cuz of the feel and strength of it. my shots come off quicker, i pass better and recieve better too. i don't notice the focus flex. whether the focus flex is a gimmck i don't really care, it performs better than most of the other blades i've tried. i've tried other combos and always come back to this combo.
