Chadd 916 Report post Posted June 9, 2006 I was 15 and had "borrowed" a car from a relative. There were 2 other guys and 4 girls in the car with me as well as some "beverages". I hit a patch of ice and flipped the car. While it was sliding I can recall watching the pavement slide by the windshield under my ass, as I wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Fortunately nobody was injured seriously and the wreck was cleaned up before the police became aware of the situation. When I was 19 I had worked about two days straight between my two jobs and I was too tired to drive home. I stopped at a firend's place and asked if I could crash on his couch for a couple hours. He shared the place with his brother and said his brother wouldn't like it so I had to drive home. At the time I was living about 20 minutes away from his place, just outside of town. I managed to make it about halfway when I fell asleep and crashed into, and destroyed, two concrete highway dividers. I vaguely recall getting out of the car and having a couple people nearby. I do know that as they were loading me into the ambulance I was asking if my guitar was ok. Again I was lucky to have no serious damage.

I did two 360s and there were numerous skid marks. thank god for anti lock brakes and the fact i got new tires about a month earlier. i cant begin to explain how scared and paranoid i was driving home after that. i could hardly stop my hands from shaking. so now im sorta paranoid about going fast and what not so yea. all in all probably the scariest moment of my life. but no damage physically to me or the car. All Torhs Team 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2006 My brother, Not me. (he is 14 years old)Hes with his friend out in the woods in camoflauge playing air soft with each other. Apparently a guy walking his dog thinks theyre real guns so he calls the cops. Ten minutes later the cops show up. About 6 cars.My brother and his friend go to check it out and little do they know the police are searching for them. They let out the dogs into the woods and my brother and his friend start running. (they had no reason to they are dumb) they get surrounded by about 10 police with all their guns pointed at brother and friend. Took about an hour to figure out it was not real guns and nobody had real guns.

Chara3 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2006 I dunno if this is a near death experience but it was a pretty awkward encounter I had in the summer.I was in Montreal, and I was waiting at the end of my aunt's street for my friend to pick me up, (she lives in a kinda rough neighbourhood in east Mtl.), and these 2 guys in a civic stopped beside me then said something I couldnt hear before speeding off around a corner. About 30 seconds later my friend comes and picks me up.As we are driving away, I spotted the Civic speeding back around the corner, and some other guy run out from behind the building i was sitting in front of, only to stop and look puzzled at the fact that I was gone.If my friend showed up any later, I might have been mugged or something!it was really weird/scary
tokes 0 Report post Posted September 6, 2006 Last night racing a ZX-14 on the highway in a buddies turbo mustang, the back end slid out when the turbo spooled up after he shifted to fourth gear (at 140 MPH) and we just about went sideways into a light pole before he brought it back around. Managed to slow down a ton before we ended up scuffing up against a concrete median, scraped up two wheels and the paint and just about wet ourselves

--notorious 0 Report post Posted September 29, 2006 Got robbed at gun point when I was a teen. Wasn't really that scared when it happened though. About 2 years ago some asshat drove a U-haul truck into the living room of my apartment while my wife and I were watching TV. It knocked out a 6'x3' window frame across the room and dumped a wall on top of me. I was sitting on the side of the couch that was furthest away from the window so I only got cuts and bruises from the wall debris but the cops on scene said if I was sitting any closer to the window, the frame would have hit me square and probably killed me. I guess the worst part of the whole thing was that we were moving into our new house and had just got married so a lot of our shower and wedding gifts got destroyed along with a lot of my hockey gear that was drying on a rack by the window. Had to replace the gear on my own since U-Haul's insurance company wasn't in a hurry to pay us for the damage their truck caused and I didn't want to wait. Good thing since we still haven't resolved this over 2 years later. ^^^^^^^^Look up "gentle ride" eh how ironic.
Bazan110584 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2006 I worked for my town's highway department for three summers. Normally I was on a road crew, where we filled potholes using scoop shovels. But once I was flagging for a major road repair (using the big machines rented from a private company). Anyway, I was underneath a bridge, no shoulders. A town truck, one that hauled trash, was coming towards me. I held my flag up, expecting him to stop. Instead of hitting the break, the SOB shifted gears on me. So I flattened myself, and an eighteen wheeler came within three feet of me, going what seemed like 1000 MPH (in reality, probably 40 -50 MPH). But it felt close.
