Domi Leafs Infamous Video

Recommended Posts

well it's a start.

You need to start the shot from the ground up. Legs, core, arms. Your legs are to close together and you're standind to straight. You're not transfering any weight and just sweeping the puck. If this is your first year get a coach to help you work on wrist shots, after you get decent then try snap shots and then slap shots. If you start getting into bad habits now they are hard to loose later.

Its all in the legs, im sure kovy ribs' would be more useful on shooting but here's a vid i made a lil while ago. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ejlRC7fDAKQ

The start is a few one timers then really bad slapshots (i wasn't trying too hard). The rest ignore - its lame lol.

Is that u -- number 24?. Dude talk about a huge hook on your first hit -- dirty

Guys, I think we should all cut him some slack. He was probably high from smoking all that weed his friends give him for driving them places.

Saw that vid the other day, looks like fun. I don't think its actually a Glock 18, more possibly an illegally modified 17, my guess is a 19 because it looks too short, but that may be the angle, but i'd love to run one off of one of those Beta C drum mags, i think theyre like 250 a piece though as far as I know. more than half as much as a Glock.

Shooting on the grass is not the best thing though, try to find a solid spot and work work on technique, quantity of pucks you shoot is not important if you are doing them wrong. Try with 100 pucks a day but shot them right and then improve the number. For shooting technique, try to emulate the pros, check out their videos...Kovalev, Sakic, Naslund, Nedved...Also look at the target when you shoot.

lol well he is a beginner it looks to be like you've been used to shooting balls where you didnt need to shift your weight and a small lift would send it flying, so i would say move your legs futher apart and shoot like you would on ice(unless you shoot like that on ice :P)

My leagues a tad bush and cheap.

Perfect example - i got in aminor scuffle (just wrestling really) in front of the net, both linesmen then hold me back and the other kid gets up, gives me a huge uppercut and knocks half my two front teeth out. We both got 2+2

"Nice vid 44, in the beginning you looked like one of my teammates, cuz our jerseys look pretty similar."

The yellow and green one? thats my team austalia jersey. And thank you btw, the vid got me an A* for my GCSE Phys Ed lol.

"is that soilwork in the video?"

No, thats Spineshank - New Disease

This is why they shouldn't let beginners buy nice gear. Dammit.

I can see what you mean like when somebody starts playin pickup for the first time they ask you where this strap goes etc.

But he says he's in his first season so he's not exactly a begginer, and i also know begginers that have nothing else to spend their money on so decide to buy all the top gear, i agree it can sometimes be annoying when they have XXX's or something and skate with ankles like a pyramid! :D

But if they have the money and have nothing else to spend it on then why not? Its not like their's a skill level needed for certain gear

dude i am really good skater. i've been playing roller and am used to lighter pucks where you don't have to flip your wrists as much... by the way all my gear is lower end... my mom sent me the stick and gloves for christmas so i use them outside. i have a pair of mission L3 gloves that are really soft that i use on ice.

i took figure skating lessons when i was younger (not my idea) and then decided i wanted to play hockey.

no the band is called "trivium" "pull harder"

like JR said, you need to transfer your weight from your back leg to your front leg when you're shooting. Keep your feet at a wider stance. When you are shooting it seems like you are trying to get 'under' the puck too much. You really want to get some force behind it instead of just trying to put it high. Try standing towards the front of the piece you are shooting off of. On your wrist shot the puck needs to be farther back...well behind your back foot, but on slap shots there is some room for personal preference but it should anywhere from between your legs to your front foot. Just keep practicing, you will get it.
