What should the wings do?

We all know the wings are a great regular season team, but when It comes to playoffs they cant get the job done. Who do you think they should get in goal, and will that goalie be enough for them to get deep into the playoffs. If not who else do they need to get rid of and bring in?

In my opinion there are alot of players that need to be gone

Lang, Osgood, Legace, Maltby, Draper could all be gone and bring in some youth to replace them. I think howard deserves the back up job.

Personnely i would like to see Biron in net next year.

trade him for schnieder and then sign a physcical d-men, and a speedster forward.

Go with a faster younger team.

you need a larger physical presence up front. bootland, franzen, and zednik can only do so much. the majority fo your fowards are small and the ywould need more size up front.

datysuk WILL be traded. the wings did not like how he handled the contract talk last summer. they need to trade him now before he becomes a ufa next summer and they get nothing.

Roloson pre-injury would have been awseome, but a 38 year old goalie with a bad knee is quite risky.

You want Zednik... We'll even give you Bulis and Sundstrom as a bonus for Lang and if you try to convince Montreal a bit you may even get Bonk against some pucks and sticks lol :D Zednik the one trick poney.. the guy who can scate really fast in as straight line. The only problem is that he can't have the puck at that time and you cannot expect him to make a left or right turn lol.. I used to like him but he's never been the same after the Mclaren incident. Bulis could be a good player if he didn't take so many nights off.. as for Sundstrom... I think he should retire lol... Bonk..it's easy to understand why the Sens didn't want him anymore

First off, why would anyone suggest getting rid of Draper? His contract might be a little on the high side, but he exemplifies Detroit hockey. I'd try to get back Shanny, although I wouldn't give him more than he is worth, let alone a multi-year deal. Sign Lidstrom (obviously), let the other UFAs go. Pick up a few badass Canadian blueliners. Try to get the team tougher up front. I heard that Grier was interested in the Wings or something? I don't know if he is even a UFA, but a player of his type up front is needed.

IMO the wings need some speedy, bigger, meaner, hungrier, grittier forwards. Peca and Barnaby are out there, also Avery could be back on the block. I think team chemistry is an issue here and Ken Holland knows what he's doing, I hope so atleast.

I think they're both under contract for next year though. I don't see a point in just letting him go, and I don't see what a club would offer for him. If he was to be moved I would have thought it would have come during the draft, for something like a 3rd round pick.

Avery won't come back. He is a bitch and everyone knows it. When you see a guy like that who creates so much public drama outside the locker room with another team, why would you even consider bringing him back? He doesn't have any sort of an upside that make up for his detremental antics.

ken holland has said that he wants two exp goaltenders on the roster next year and feee lthat leaving howard in grandrapids for one more year is the right thing to do at this time. i'm torn about schinder, he is good offesensively but it would depend on what they are getting in return. if they were to trade both schinder and datysuk (7.2 on hte cap) that would be a big help cap wise. maybe both for pronger?

Cajanek and Spacek would be nice guys to add as free agents and it would be nice to see what they can get for Datsyuk. They do need a bit more toughness up front but none of the guys available seem to have toughness and scoring touch. Barnaby, Petrovicky and Greer are the ones that come to mind.
