Vector 10.0 Stick

Recommended Posts

the recchi is an iginla curve. The heatley has more of a curve than the recchi.

Maybe the ovechkin curve is what you're looking for?

From what I know i thought Heatley was an Iginila clone. Ovechkin is pretty much a drury. And i thought the regular flex felt like an 05 stealth 100 flex.

I saw a curve of a heatley, or at least as it was claimed, on ebay(my reference for my post). It was a deeper curve than an Iginla...

The Ovechkin was just a guess but I remember it being more curved than the iginla. :P

Having just spent the last few days sorting out the mysteries of lie... the Recchi seems to me to be in between a 5 lie (45 degrees) and a 5.5 lie (46 degrees).

I have no idea how CCM measured it and came up with a 6 lie on their website!

Yeah I totally agree. I'll just have to use trial and error i guess...thanks

Alright im back home. I "just" got one 10.0 OPS and one 8.0 Shaft/Blade Combo.

Both are REALLY good. I came from a ST (silver/red one) and i gotta say that thats the best ops ive ever used.

I actually got a SL laying around here which i havent used yet, but its really, really a top shelf stick.

Sven, what does the weight of the 8.0 shaft/blade compare to? How is the balance?

Both are really good balanced and if you ask me, the combo is a bit lighter or maybe as light as the (old) ST. The 10.0 is as light as the SL.

All in all, i recommend them to anyone who wants a good stick. Worth every penny. Cant say much about the durability, but i just heard good things.

My friend has a 10.0 shaft and 8.0 blade and he likes the setup a lot. And the 8.0 blade would save you some money. Never tried his stick out on the ice because he's a lefty(I'm ambidextrous but it's not worth screwing around with in my limited ice time) but with a smart hockey ball it feels really nice.

Isnt the 10.0 tapered and accepts just tapered blades?

Nice info tho.

I could've sworn that the 8.0 shaft and blade were tapered too. So you're telling me that the 8.0 IS a standard shaft, Sven?

No, no. I just thought that it is standard. Lets wait what the real gurus say.

I'm not a real guru, but I assure you that the Vector 8.0 is tapered... but I heard somewhere that it is standard in europe.

Here's a link to the 8.0 blade at hockeymonkey where it lists it as tapered. :) Vector 8.0 blade

Um, dumb question on my part:

We all know that the CCM Vector 10.0 is pricey.

Why do people buy the CCM product when they can buy an RBK 7k (the same stick/shaft, with a different topcoat) for $20+ less?

Just wondering...

The 7k and 10.0 are not the same stick with different topcoat.

FINALLY -- someone who can tell me what's the difference!

I've read everything on both shafts/sticks that I can find which is consumer-available. Picked up both shafts (but not played with them). My next step would've been to call CCM and RBK.

So please proceed...how are the Vector 10.0 and Rbk 7k shafts and sticks different?

THey're made differently. RBK is a conventional-made OPS, Vector is made like a wood stick.

So the Vector is "layered"? and the RbK is "molded"?
