$95 is crazy, mike charged me $30.try skate for gold in the delco plaza shopping center in hicksville, they also have a pro shop in the iceworks rink in syosset.if you take the tuuk off it should be less money.just make sure they`re going to do it right ,sprung recommends you move the frame back a1/4in back from center, you dont want the front wheel to toe`sh.

CCM is supposed to fit 1.5 sizes down, tour is not. tour is supposed to fit 1 size down (i've seen other people state tours fit 1.5 size down and spreading that misinformation should stop)

i find your skate sizing VERY strange...i wear size 7.5 tour and size 7 in CCM. CCMs should fit you a half size below your tours. 10 ccms fitting you is very odd.

just to follow up on this. i decided to pull all of my footbeds out of the skates i own to check whats going on with them.

my old pair of nike zoom air's (that i love but are too small) are a 7, & almost fit, but they're way way narrow.

the ccm vector's i mentioned that are an 8d are a good length, but a bit too narrow also.

my tour 8.5's fit pretty much just right. so i'm going to go with an 8e either easton or ccm tacks for a boot. i have a thread here where i hope to decide & order by tomorrow.

i'm going to stop by wheelin willy's in wantagh tomorrow & see what they say, its only a few mins from my house.

for the record, plaza said $10 to take off the old ice blade & $85 to mount the new one. crazy.

Hey Keith, what is the pitch of your new frames?

On the mission pitch scale would it be: +1=graf, neutral=ccm, or -1=tuuk?

Need to find out before installing frames!

my easton z air boots should be here this week. wee.

i use all 80mm xsoft labeda genesis wheels now.

i'm about 145lbs. i guess the xsoft's are like 72a.

should i stick to about the same with sprungs, or mix, or what do you guys find best?

i want to order the set of 76mm's today, whatever hardness that may be.

the factory z rated micro hub wheels for $4/ea are real tempting.

or the labeda grippers for 5.25

Go harder at least 74, 76 will probably do even better since the sprungs grip more.

ok. thanks. any opinions on the wheels i mentioned above? or redstar sniper wheels (on ebay for cheap). i've only owned 'indoor' wheels that came with skates, & only labeda's. thanks.

I'd avoid Factory wheels, Labeda and Rink Rat seem to be the top two choices for good reason. I don't care for Labeda since Rink Rats though, you could try some Hot Shots since they are a bit cheaper than Hornets if you've never skated them before. Milleniums or Fuzions by Labeda are also good choices.

I just received the New model A6 sprungs. I don't know what kind of material this is, but it looks and feels very, very durable. There's no way this chassis can break, it's really tough. Not that weight matters to me, but it's definitely not the lightest frame, I compared it to the Labeda Cateye chassis that I have, and you can notice a difference. I've got a roller hockey tournament coming up, hopefully I can use these frames then, and post a review.

Holy Jeez. Guys you may want to get harder wheels for these. I just got 76A Hornets and the grip was so much, I could not stop. I never thought I would need 78A, but I think I do

that bad? i mean, we're about the same stats. if i'm using xsofts or 74's now, depending on the surface, i can't see having to go to 76 or 78's with sprungs. but i do want to order tomorrow at the latest, hrm.

I was on ice court, that could be why. No joke, I felt the wheels flexing LOL. I had 76a hot shots on there before, but they were more worn in I guess.

i just had another place quote me $50 to mount the sprung on the ice boot. the easton skate should be here today. i might just go with that, even if it's still too much, it's better than the $95 i was quoted before. & this place is closer. atleast then if something is wrong i have somewhere to take it to, not sure i wanna do it myself.

& i think i'm gonna order the millenium wheels & bones swiss today. if i get the rink rat mb's they're $18 more, & i'd have to spend $30 more to get bsb bearings since bones doesn't make 688's.

plus the rink rat's are only 76a, & i feel like i still need xsofts.

The $50 is still high, and even then, if you want them done right, get them to use the mounting instructions. And stand around and wait for them so they'll do it right.

As for the wheels, go with 76As over extra soft. They'll be more than sticky enough and faster.

By the way, Happy New Year everybody.

I'll be going to China right after the Vegas Hockey Show to supervise our first big order and start the large moulds. So all you big foots can look forward to the large being available in early April. If things move quicker, that's OK too.

I'll be shipping out the rest of the pre-sales sometime next week. If we end up including some extra hardware, I'll make sure that it also gets to all of the first deliveries. It's the same as the old model except for the pivot pin which is longer and thicker.

We are not including extra rocker arms either, because we don't have a ton yet and we don't think anybody's going to need them. If we end up adding one because of the lack of dealer access, they will also go to everybody.

When distribution is established, the parts will be available locally and all warranties will be handled locally since they're just replacement parts.

oh great, hockeyworld decides to sell the skates i just bought in 'boot only' form for $30 cheaper. as of today. haha. i guess i can order it & wait an extra week to mount these, & keep the others as an ice skate. but damn. isn't that some irony.

ok, so a quick review on my thoughts on these frames. I got my Amp 2's mounted yesterday (pics when I get back home this weekend) and got a chance to roll around a little on them on the kitchen floor.

The Amps I bought were well used, but still in decently good shape with plenty of life left, a little soft on the top portion of the boot though. For reference I have Wicked 3's and 7's right now that I love for the ski boot fit. The amount of boot flex in the Amps combined with chassis give in the suspension was about the complete opposite of a stiff boot with a rigid frame. I haven't had a chance to go skate full blown on the Sprungs, but I can already tell it will be apples to oranges feel because of the huge contrast.

That being said, I really think the Sprung is the best ice boot conversion chassis because it has the lean and flex, so the boot doesn't have to do as much of it. This is not to speak to the performance of the chassis itself, I haven't tested it hard yet, but inline specific boots are built with more forward flex since a rigid aluminum chassis doesn't give and curve like an ice blade does. This would likely prolong the life of an ice boot conversion by a lot since it's just normal wear and tear at that point.

I found myself at an impass yesterday after wearing the Amp's around the house and coming to these conclusions. Do I take the chance and get the frames to mount my Wicked skates on to have a bonafide feel in a stiff boot, or do I call it good on what I've got, probably to gift these off to a friend and stick with what I know now even if going to Sprungs could be a better option? The chassis got my attention and the attention of my LHS with one of the best mounting guys and overall shop owners I've ever met. He was very impressed, and he's seen alot come across his counter in the last decade or so having a shop 3 blocks from Colorado College as well as all of us inline punks here with the Rocky Mountain PIHA and such.

My intrigue combined with someone who is that knowledgeable, and a little luck has led me to my next (and pricier) experiment with the Sprungs to see if they really are that good (at least for me) or if the Vanguard Hi-Lo is the way to go. For those of you who have a local Play It Again Sports, I advise you to check out their stuff every once in a while. You never know when you'll find a barely used pair of Vapor XXX for $200.00.

Those mounted with the newer Spung chassis, some MB816 wheels and micro swiss bearings will be my next endeavor in these, either producing a fantastic skate for me, or a deal for someone on here.

For those of you like me who are skeptical and have tried everything under the sun, the frame is worth checking out at least. It feels solid, not terribly expensive and could be a very good thing. I don't advise breaking the bank to try it though, I just have some fun money and don't mind spending it to try new stuff.

i just baked the easton boot's, i wanna mount the frames tomorrow, break them in sun morning, & use them in my game monday. i'll post pics once the frames go on tomorrow.
