I think that looks pretty sweet as is. I dunno about any of you guys, but seeing pictures of these sick combinations makes me want a set.

By the way, Keith, I think maybe the heading image on the Sprung homepage might need a little editing; it seems as if the resolution is messed up. Maybe you enlarged it too much? Try a higher resolution shot or maybe remake it. I know this happens to my Powerpoint presentations when I get carried away changing sizes of images.

Im predicting a major website upgrade in the very near future. Especially if sprung partners up with a skate company. Right now it gets the job done but it looks like one of the "As seen on TV" product websites.

Hey guys, please help me out. Happy Sprung customer here.

I learned to skate on inline skates before taking the ice. I am using Sprung frames for roller. I love them and feel pretty comfortable on them. For ice, I used CCM E-40s until a while ago. It was easy to adjust because like a lot of you guys report, the Sprung's really feel like ice skates.

Or better said: My old ice skates felt like Sprungs.

Now I got a great deal on a Vector 10 t-blade skate. I didn't want those t-blades but I got 60% off. Current runner is M-13. I do not feel comfortable at all. I want that Sprung feeling back!

What kind of holder do you guys suggest? Should I go for a standard holder or maybe Tuuks? I read great things about Tuuks. Money is not an issue since I really saved a lot of $ on the skate.

Sorry that this is an ice question, but I want to know which setup feels like a Sprung chassis. I figure that in the roller section there is a better chance to get an answer.

Well I don't know if they feel closest the the Sprung Chassis I do know that the Mission Pitch holders offer great adjustability (you can change the pitch from neutral to forward or negative) and the steel is also of high quality. I do have the Sprung chassis at home, but haven't got around to getting them mounted yet and my roller league doesn't start until May so I can't really compare them just yet. I have used the Tuuk, Prolite, E-Pro, and Pitch ice holders and prefer the Pitch. It's stiff, it's easy to switch out the steel if you have an extra set of runner or need to replace the runners, it's also easy to keep the blades tight in the holders (the blades on the CCM holders always used to click on me after a while and I could tighten them, but it's easier to do with the Pitch holder) and it's easy to adjust the Pitch.

sim, if you've still got your E-40s, and the holders are the same size on both skates, your best bet would probably be to swap the holders over from those onto the Vector 10s. That will give the closest feel to your old skates.

hey guys,Im totally feelin the love on the skates and I say thanx for that. Hey Datsyuk the frame you described is being used by a played named Casey Escarcega. Unfortunatly for him he didnt get the sick deal I did on the wickeds. Without a doubt this is the best pair of skates I have ever owned, lookwise and feelwise.

Just tried out my Sprungs for the 1st time last night...

Size: 5-11, 74Kg

Inline player: 10 yrs

Ice player: 2 yrs

Skate: Mission 1500, RinkRat MB-816 wheels, ABEC 9 Mini bearings

My 1st Impressions were that they were wonky, loose and clacky at the best of times. I tried some quick side movements and head fakes on them in warm up; All went well. Furthermore, I attempted a double leg stop as well as a jump stop and noticed a massive cut down in the amount of "slide" I normally encounter on a stop. To put it more definate terms, I now stop on a dime!

Acceleration was an issue to start off with, they definately don't have the same amount of jump that my 10k's do. In saying that its more than likely the difference in boot performance as well as me not quite used to sprinting in the Sprungs.

I gotta say I was eager to see how these would perform and in the later stages of the game when I was used to them I started to purposefully get myself into quick turn and back checking situations. The more I pushed them the better response I got really. The cornering and the stopping in these are worth the drop in 1st and 2nd gear speed for the moment.

The longer the use time went the better the chassis performed. I think even in a few games I'm still going to see the benefits going up in the positive coloumn

In a few mths I may just have the 10k's converted to sprung. I was worried as I'd heard mounting on the Helium line was difficult, so used the 1500's as the guinea pig. So far so good.

Once the 10k's are done I will post pics!

Verdict... 8.5/10

In a word.... Potential

Joe and I have a Bunch of new ice holders that we've pulled off of boots that we mounted Sprungs on. Some RBK/CCM, Tuuks and Pitches. At least two sizes of most of them. Anybody that wants a pair, they're free for the shipping. Some are in LA and some in San Diego.

I've always liked the concept of the Pitch, being a product guy. They're certainly good enough for Mission and (through Mission) Kor. Every time I've had a pair of ice boots I've ended up switching them to roller before I got a chance to get on ice again after a lifetime or so.

When I do, I'll post my own impression of the ice/Sprung comparison that I've heard from guys that Know since I (with Mission's help) made my prototypes in '98. If I can walk onto an ice rink and not kill myself in a minute or two, it'll only be because I learned to skate on my frames. The more I think about it, the more I want to do it.

Here's some WICKED 1'S for you. I mounted whites first and then thought about adding black rockers. But then I found my last pair of red ones. They defined wicked and went so good with the red boot accents that it was no question any more. BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Well, I now am completely hooked on sprung. However, I had another rocker arm break this week. I am now soaking them after every game. Anyone else in SoCal having this many problems?

Man, I'm just glad you're still speaking to me!!

I don't know of anybody, anywhere, that's having the problems you are. What color rockers? I'll go through the stock and find some Specially Tough Ones.

The old model durability and surface quality varied with every shipment, which is why I switched companies before starting production on the new model. I actually dumped an entire set of new model molds and tools at the old factory, and started over. It obviously had to be done, but what a drag!! It cost us about 8-9 months, overall, to make the factory change and then sort out the new product.

Man Keith those Wicked #1's look cool. I still have a new pair of old model CCM 652 Super Tacks held back for a Sprung frame sometime soon. They are the late eighties or early ninties model with the gold colored graphics. A Sprung frame dyed black with gold or white rockers would look sweet on them.

Keep the picture coming guys I love seeing what other guys have done with this frame.

Keith, love those black chassis w/ white rockers. Do you have any to fit the old chassis? Let me know. Thanks, Sal.

I don't know about the red on thw Wicked 1's.

I'm sure Bobby loves them. He's a little flamboyant..

after skating on sprungs for 6 months,my first few steps have gotten quicker,i did change my take off from a dead stop, instead of a power stride push i went to 3 to 4 small quick push strides to get the jump and then put the power back in my stride .sounds kind of funning but it was a good ajustment.once you get used to the frames your skating pulls together.

I would have to agree with you. I realized that I still can have my speed if I just take short choppy steps and forget about trying to get the most out of every stride. Basically, I just needed to stop being lazy, and actually try to get to the puck first. The funny thing is, even though I'm taking quicker strides, I'm not near as tired and my knees feel so much better after a game. It seems that the hardest problem to overcome is the tendency as an inline player to not lean so far forward when skating.

Anybody got a pic of the new sprung frame on ccm vector pro? A pic of the sole with the frame would be helpful. Thanks. I will get my frames mounted on thuesday and a pic will help to make sure we do it right.

Those wicked ones look sick.

Quick question.

How many cooper rivets do you sugest having and where? Some boots seem to have 4/6 but some have none.

Any ideas?

The two rears is all that's needed.

Also, it's really a good thing to put the F&R wheels in one of the frames so you can double-check all the hole positioning marks before drilling and mounting.

The wheels should be centered L&R and stick out passed vertical from the toe and heel of the boot about the same. And follow the directions.

I've heard from a lot of guys, all along, who've given the instructions to the shop guy only to have them completely ignored. It's happened to me too, which is why I started doing it myself. If I'm not careful, I can screw it up as good as the next guy. That's why the double-check is so helpful.
