hey keith, hate to keep bothering you about this, do you think you could post when the black large A8's are available? Also what are the advantages of waiting until they are available or like you said getting the dye, which i'm not exactly sure what that involves. thanks

I dyed my white ones black (and orange)-I'm guessing the factory blacks are made from black resin. What happens with my frames in the areas that wheels make contact with the frames at the front and back extremes, I end up with a little white patch-this is where the dyed material has worn away.

From what I've noticed, its just cosmetic, and my blacks look as black as I can imagine anything looks to the human eye.

Btw-a hint from my lacrosse head-dying days. If you want black black black-

I always use a packet of dark brown, a packet of denim blue, and a packet of black dye powder-all with the amount of liquid called for by 1 packet. You endup with a thicker mix, but it seems to end up much darker.

Remember, RIT is made for fabric, and those instructions are for that. Ditto for other colors-if you want rich, deep colors, double up on the dye with the same amount of water. And don't be afraid to soak those suckers-they'll come out a little lighter than they look after rinsing and drying.

You know what'd be rather sick? If we could get PNG files of those Sprung logos so we could make stencils. I did one rocker arm with black/orange/white (arm is black, the main area of the logo is white, and the spring part is orange). It took me almost an hour to mask those two springs freehand, and I wish I would have had the patience to do all my rockers the same way, because it did come out looking rather sweet.

You should actually read thru it... it does give a good review on the product, and you see some really good custom skates that some have alredy put together.

Go to the website, www.sprunginline.com.

It is a new chassis that is ment to emulate ice feel of skating. Many feel it greatly aids in the ability to stop and turn, but there is a loss in speed. Some say the sacrifice is very much worth it.

short terms for it.

Honestly, though you may not want to initially, i actually found it kind of interesting to browse through, not neccessarily read but skim every post, you end up getting fairly informed. Also there are some great and really nice skate jobs done in this thread. Some really cool designs.

I did, but at the same time i can understand where he is coming from. It's not that big of a deal and it was just as easy to offer an explanation as it is to say "go figure it out for yourself"

Well, I don't think there's a loss of speed compared to every chassis. I haven't tried every chassis on the market, but I did skate on the Tuuk Rockers for a few years and in my informal testing (just timed myself doing some laps with each chassis) I actually found a speed increase compared to the rockers while at the same time noticing a more ice like feel and better traction. So compared to the Tuuk Rocker the Sprungs offer a better overall experience in my opinion. I can't tell you what they're like compared to the Hummer or Hilo chassis's though as I haven't used those.

I'm not faster on sprungs, but I'm definately quicker.

Meaning-in a straight race, I'll probably lose to a comparable skater using rigid frames, but during a game, I'll probably "play" faster than they do.

I don't feel like I have lost any speed or quickness compared to Hi-lo's. I also think I have gained a lot of turning and stopping ability. In my opinion they are definitely worth it.

When I originally bought them it was kinda just to experiment with them since I am a new-gear/technology whore through and though. But after skating on them for about 5 or 6 months now I don't think I could go back to traditional chassis.

I've been contemplating buying Sprungs for a couple of months now but I've been waiting for my current skates to die (I've been short on money). I think that has finally happened... The sole undereath and surrounding the chassis has caved in on itself and well.. its not very fun to skate on. A few of my friends here in NW Ohio have Sprungs and they all love theirs, but i wear a size 10.5 and wanted to go with the large A80s. I've looked through the last couple dozen posts, but I couldn't find any information on whether or not the sole would have to be dremmeled in the front of the boot if A80 chassis are used, as is the case with Hummers. Now that there are plenty of larges out and in use, could anyone fill me in on whether or not dremmeling is necessary? Thanks!

Im currently experiencing a fairly high drop in my overall speed. I beleive this may have something to do with my Bauer XR boot losing its stiffness as well as my current wheels (RinkRat Hot Shots) being over 3 years old. The Sprungs have been well used for over 6 months now and maybe contributing but without ruling out the above I cannot be sure.

I will be hopefully getting a used pair of XX or XXX and slapping some Sprungs on them. Haven't seen anyone else in my city/state wearing the Sprung frame as yet.

after skating on the sprungs now for over a year i can say,yes they are very different from a straight aluminum frame.just the way your weight transfers to the rockers when you make your turns and the way you push off into your skating stride.at first i thought i might have lost speed but really you get that all back when you get use to the feel of the rockers.just like if you went from one skate that you have been skating on for many years and then you switched to a completely different skate, like a tour straight frame to mission hi low frame, the adjustment period does take time.in any case it is all personal preference and what feels right for you.

GENIUS Mr Burg, I have just figured out why my acceleration has crapafied itself over the past months. I used to have a 72-72-76-76 setup on my frames and have switched back to straight 72's as I don't have any reg bearing sized 76 wheels. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to the Epuck wonderland shortly.

Am I to believe my eyes? You've been using 72/76's instead of all 76's? And now you're on all 72's? Both of those setups are slower than all 76's, and 72/76's, on Sprungs are also less maneuverable. A week or so on new 76's will give you improved Speeeed and Cutng. ;)

And, the large A8 will get here soon. Sorry about the delay, but it'll be more than worth it. The medium A8 drawings are in the works already.

Because of new Post Office Priority Mail prices, the international boxes are $7- $20 more, depending on the country. But a box holds up to three pairs, so if you can find buds to share the shipping, you'll do better. The only cheap way left is First Class, which may be as fast as International Priority, but has no insurance or delivery confirmation/tracking. To some places, this means the package doesn't really have to be delivered.

Hey Sprungster, I reached out to you a while ago and you told me to keep in touch. I'm just wondering if you happen to have any signs or banners I could have to put up at my rink. It is going to be opening in a few weeks and I'd like to spread the word about Sprungs to my league members.

EDIT: Hmm, well I thought the 08s had shipped but it doesn't look like many places have them. So I guess it will be a few weeks before Sprungs are gracing the new boots.

Has anyone put sprungs on any of the new 2008 missions yet? My original Wicked Lights are on their way out and I was thinking about switching to a Boss or LT. soon. Anyways, I don't anticipate any problems mounting them but I was just curious if anyone had tried yet.
