So i've been having this problem with my front left wheel. It's been making this ratcheting/clicking noise when i put a little pressure on it when i skate. The wheel spins freely. I hadn't thought twice about it as i previously attributed it to the spring making noises, but i realized something is definitely wrong tonight. I went to rotate my wheels and the axle wouldn't come out. The nut came off (half stripped the arm in the process) but the axle wouldn't come out. I tried pushing really hard, and i still couldn't get the axle unstuck. The wheel would still spin freely on the axle though. Anyone (KEITH!) know what's going on here?

6.5 through 10.5 Tour

The large A8 frame fits;

The spacer is too tight and the axle is stuck inside it. Maybe something got in there with it, or it was a little too long and tightening the wheel down flanged the ends of the spacer so it closed down on the axle. I've had this one with 8mm aluminum axles and .250" steel ones. The noise was probably the bearings ratcheting left and right because the bearings couldn't seat with the spacer too long. If others are noisy, check them out. You can sand your spacers down carefully so that everything seats correctly. Sometimes this comes later when the bearing seats are stretched and the wheels are starting to move wrong from improper spacing of the bearings.

Regardless, you need some new hardware. Email me with your address so I can get them to you.

I've never seen customer service quite like this before

The joys of dealing with an owner directly who takes immense pride in his work, and the success stories of his clients. :D

I have nothing but good things to say about Keith, his product and his outstanding service is second to none. I would love to meet the man in person just to pick his brain and shake his hand. I am convinced that Keith has developed the best product to hit the roller hockey market since the invention of the inline skate itself. Keep up the good work Keith we need more guys like you promoting our sport.

Loyal Sprung customer,

Rick Henry

I will compile a spreadsheet of skates and Sprung combinations for sizing, knowing what works etc. if you guys want and host it. It would be a nice resource. Post up or message me your skate/chassis/wheel/nuts/spacers setup and information as to fitment and an up/down vote.

Hopefully we can remove some of the guess work from putting these together.

I play inline once a week, and have gotten quite used to my Sprungs in the six weeks or so since I mounted them. Today I took my PE class ice skating, and skated on ice for the first time since I started using Sprungs. I was absolutely amazed to find I had hardly any adjustment in balance or skating style to make. It just reinforced my opinion on what a great product this chassis is.

Keith, You guys may laugh but after years of being a Tacks guy I am loving my "99" Easton Z-Airs with Sprung combos so much I ordered another pair of "99" Z-Air boots. This is my question.......I want to build a pair of ice skates to match, as closely as possible to my inlines. Can you or anyone else recommend a good holder and a good starting point for a radius to start with to give me something that feels close to my Sprung inline setup. My boots are size 10 and I'm using a medium A/6 Sprung chassis. My question may be impossible to answer but I thought I would give it a try. I do have a set of CCM Prolite 3 holders and blades from a set of Tacks.

Thanks

Rick Henry

JR, Those look nice with the white Sprung chassis. That has always been my favorite style of Mission boot.

Rick- get some lightspeed 2's with non perforated steel in the corresponding size to your boot. Doesn't get much better than that.

I disagree. The Sprungs give you a very neutral pitch, and the LS2's are heels down. The E Pro's with their neutral pitch would be the closest thing to the Sprungs. I have 2 pairs of 7K's....one with my stock E Pro, the other Sprungs.....the pitch is identical.

Finally got these pics up.

It's a RBK 7k size 9.5 with the Large A8 chassis and the new RinkRat Hornets.

I mounted them on my own and love the result. -> Keith you made a perfect Job with these chassis!! Thank you.

By the way, I bought everything in Germany (www.main-eissport.de)... For all german guys here ask me if you got any questions!

I would definitely not say that Lightspeed 2's are "heels down". I find them to be very neutral if not having a forward pitch. Have you ever used them? I personally have used E pro's and I hated them. Whatever though just giving my 2 cents.

LS2 is neutral, it's the Bauer boot that is heels down.

Radius on LS2 is 9'

Epro is 10'

EPro would probably be closer because its not as stiff as LS2.

I posted this months back: http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index...;hl=boot++pitch

There's some good info in there. Some from TBLfan.

Real beautiful Rbk's, there. I just finished some new 8K's and a pair of sold Torspos. I'll post them later.

Meanwhile, I'm having total problems trying to return email to anyone with bellsouth.net. All of my mail gets rejected as abusive, says it's permanent. They probably know I grew up in the South and actually chose to leave.

Hey Nick L.and Mike S. Your emails from bellsouth.net get to me but bellsouth blocks all of my returns. Talk to your provider, and maybe they'll let my mail get through. It's so good to know that you're being so well protected from the evils of SoCal.

Everybody that needs parts is seen and noted and they and frames are going out today and tomorrow. Packages as paid. :)

And speaking of the devils, here's some packages. The Torspos are size 8 S50's and are sold, and the size 8.5 8K's are a custom mount sent to me. I threw in a mystery pic here, too. The green wheels are a reminder that these are color shots.B)
