Great keith... hope you get a good ride!!!

Let me know how much the Torspo's are gonna cost to me in Oz. Shoot me an email or Pm

How about I send you two pair of 9's, one with A8's one with A6's, and you pick the ones you like and find a bud to buy the other pair for the same price (or more?)and half the shipping? You only pay for the one pair up front. All I'll need is the other email address to paypal invoice.

And is this actually posting # 2001? "2001, A Skate Oddity" :) :)

Keith, did you ever get those t-shorts out? A banner would be nice too.

I know a few sponsors have already put up some banners at the rink here... maybe I can try and get some more exposure for you if you are keen.

How many people out there have had a hockey related ride in an ambulance?? :)

I had not had that experience till 2 weeks ago when i broke my femur, blew out my knee and shattered my knee cap!... This is why I will not be needing the sprungs ( at least for a while ) I was going to paypal you the money the next day, then bam, week in the hospital, rod in my leg

oh well :P

When I am up and skating again in a year, i'm definitely getting a pair.

Hi Keith,

I was wondering if a Kor Shift 1 inline conversion with your frame is possible or not. Heard that the boot could not fit with an inline frame.

Thanks

I'll know more about that next week. As I recall from a year ago, they fit just right.

Any update on mounting the Sprungs on Kor Shift 1's? (I'm specifically wondering about the white A6 since that's what I have, but I'm sure others will want to know about the A8 too).

This is a quote from an email I got from Eduardo Zepeda from kor hockey. His title is Engineering/Project manager at Kor. “Actually, the Shift1 skates can be converted, I have mine with a set of sprung frames, the thing is that you have to drill thru the outsole and use all cooper rivets to keep the inner boot as flat as possible, then I placed a pair of superfeet insoles to cover the rivet heads.” It’s a real round about way of converting the skates and when I mentioned this in an ice hockey thread I was strongly told not to attempt doing something like this due to the lack of knowledge and tools that a LHS would have on these skates compared to Eduardo. If you don’t already know the real problem with converting the Shift 1’s is that there foo bed is not removable.

Hey Keith.

Quick question. I have looked back through this thread and thought at

one time there was mention of a stiffer sping or a way to stiffen the inner

spring. I feel like they may be flexing to much for me and I am hitting the wheels on the frame.

?????

Thanks for sharing that. I do know the Shift 1's have no foot bed as I've been using them for ice for quite a while now and even have a backup pair. I was hoping that by some fluke the Sprung frames lined up with the screw holes used for the Pitch holders, but didn't want to take off the Pitch holders and try to remove the Sprungs that are riveted onto another pair of boots to test it out.

If I could get them mounted easily I'd definitely do it as I love both the Shift 1's and the Sprungs. Given the information you've provided though I'll likely just try to find a pair of Shift 2's for a good price to get converted or pick up a pair of the converted Torspo's Keith is selling. I was hoping I'd be able to stick with the Shift 1's though since I know the boot fits me very well and I've never tried on Shift 2's or Torspos and haven't seen either locally.

Are they A6's? You probably aren't hitting the wheels on the frame, and if you are it will be easy to tell by rub marks from the wheels. It can happen with extra strong weight transfer. If it happens you can make a little room in the frame with a Dremel. There's a post here about wrapping the springs with computer paper, which works very good. You can also buy four new A8 springs, which are a little bigger, and therefor stiffer.

Oddly enough, there are several guys I know who like the looser play in front. Most of them are excellent, very fast skaters. I understand that this goes completely against the concept of firm absolutely meaning faster starts and continued acceleration. Most players, however, go for one of the fixes above.

That requires a little explanation. What happened to do all of the damage? I hope the healing process is going well.

Get better soon, buddy.

thanks petey.

:)

I'll be out there soon enough.

TOTALLYSUCKS! You described the kind of stuff that used to happen to people in cars with no seatbelts and steel dash boards when you had a headon.

I wish you the best of surgery and luck. I have friends that can vouch for replacement hips and lots of metal. And I can tell you what it looks like with the wire loops sticking out above and one side of my right knee cap after the swelling went down. They're still there and look crappy, but it sure does work fine and they don't hurt, just sorta lighter skin where they push up from inside. I could even have them taken out, but the doctor asked if I really wanted to go through that if it was working most excellent already. They are something great to talk about and show to girls when you want to really impress them. You're lucky, you'll have stories to dine out on for years. B)

Yo everyone, this is my first post, I can't believe I never knew this site existed. Either way I'm 22 living in San Diego, been playing all my life. Skated on these Sprungs for almost a year now and I couldn't be happier. Just recently got the larger arms to fit an 80mm wheel for my large chassis, and love em so far. But here's a few pics of my set-up:

My new skates that I received today from Keith:

For those that may be unaware, Keith has a deal with Torspo to purchase boots only and offer a "factory mounted" Sprung chassis direct for Sprung. A great deal for the price offered and a fantastic setup. I'm very happy with the performance of my Kor Shift 1's, and was anxious to try the Torspo in a Sprung chassis. B)

I saw that set-up yesterday when I was down talkin with Joe. Looks like an unreal boot to me, and I've heard they're performance is solid as well. Nice package deal if you ask me.

spree, great looking ride.

I demand a review!

Oh....you'll get your damn review!!! ;)

I have a game on Sunday (not using these, using my 7K/Sprung conversions) and then open on Tuesday where I will be giving them a whirl.
