Crosby How Long With Penguins?

Recommended Posts

I´d say one more season. Then he will play for the Las Vegas Aces , Kansas City Chieftains, Hartford Dolphins or something similar...

I have a feeling he could do something like Wade, Bosh and Lebron did in the NBA and that is sign an extension when his contract is up but not the maximum extension. Hell give Pittsburgh a few years to build a team around him and if they dont suceed then he will jet and go play in a big market city.

I just hope that when his contract is over, he comes to play for the team he has always wanted to play for, the Montreal Canadiens.

With all of the high draft picks that Pitssburgh has picked up the last few years, they should be better than anyone very soon.

It's sorta being built up like the 90s senators but the new management seems to be bringing in role player guys like petrovicky and moore to keep it steady

I'd hope so, but they did find a way to disappoint this year. I had picked them to go to at least the eastern conference finals, and even before mario and ziggy went down they were bottom feeders.

How are they going to pay all these players in 2-3, etc years? I can see Malkin, Crosby, Fleury demanding top tier payoffs fairly shortly. (Fleury more of a wildcard depending on how he develops, but you all see my point).

Exactly. They'll end up like the Sens and the Lightning. The salary cap will definitely prevent dynasties from being built in the long run.

They still haven't done much to improve their defense.

Especially if Fleury holds a grudge about them jerking him around to avoid paying bonuses.

I think dynasties may still be built, just in another way. From what Im reading into the NBA season with the 3 of the 4 big players from the 2003 NBA draft all taking smaller contracts and all represented by the same agent (I think), I think they all want to play for Jay-Zs Brooklyn Nets when that goes through. If they all take paycuts having Bosh, James and Wade on a team with some good role players would almost guarantee NBA championships and a dynasty, With the money they are making with endorsements they dont need big contract money and could just dominate the league for a few years. Maybe the same thing will happen with the NHL. Players will start to play with friends and take paycuts to form better teams and dominate. Dont know if it will ever happen, just a thought.

Malone would probably do pretty well playing on a line with Ekman and Malkin. For some reason I think they're going to put Crosby with the two vet wings as the #1 line.

That sure would be great but I wouldn't count on it, it hasn't exactly worked for Lecavlier etc.

And Gainey would probably sit on his hands while Crosby signed with someone else, but he'd be happy that he signed Todd Harvey or someone!

That's one thing that I hate about the cap...Especially when talking about more honest teams that have great drafting, etc not be able to keep their players. But I guess that's the name of the game.

Chadd...You think Malone will play better this year? He seemed to scale off some and had some issues last year w/ Crosby from what I heard

I like Malone, he played really well prior to the lockout. I don't know what the real issue with him was last year, but I really hope it is cleared up. I think he has the potential to bve a 40 goal guy but he needs to get PP time to get there. I just don't think he meshes well with what they were doing on the PP last year. If he's not on the top two lines, I hope they trade him somwhere where he can flourish.

I think Crosby is a better on the wing at the NHL level and I think that's where he'll eventually get most of his ice time.

Does anyone else think Fleury will be a playoff bust. TurcoLite if you will.

He has crumbled in pretty much every playoff series he has been in as a pro

He's also really really young, it's hard to pass any sort of positive or negative judgement on him yet.

Doesn't he have to actually do something in the regular season before he can become a playoff bust?

i could see fleury developing into the next luongo. he's already getting shelled each game, and playing fairly well. he's still letting in the easy goal here and there, but with maturity and experience, that'll be fixed.
