What kind of computer do you have?

Recommended Posts

Allright perfect, also. My last question was about the monitors. I did not buy one with my computer cause I was not sure if it was worth the $1,999 (or was it $2,999) but what do you think of the 30" Cinema View? as opposed to say a dell LCD which is about 21" (what I have now)

upgrading that ram is the first thing you should do. You can get great RAM from Crucial for under 200 bucks. 2gb of ram is perfect for a machine like that.

and $1000 in video cards to play games at that res. and you have to buy a HDTV tuner card($250) to watch "Basic" TV. plus the $1999 for a 30" display witch is also available from Dell (who I hate). and the native res is 2560x1600 don't know many games that can supprt that yet.

plus my monitor is also capable 16.7 million colors(like the apple). and a 1000:1 contrast ratio and a 8ms respone time. also PIP.

wasn't trying to start a war between apple and PC's but the "fanboys" are trying to defend a product I never insulted. the apple 30" cinema is a great display if you can afford it, and the accesories.

The apple display is also 1999 now. Most people who have satillite or digital cable have an hdtv tuner, the cable box, and they are free from your cable/satillite company.

Comcast started charging for an HD tuner and they won't let me have a second one, even if I pay for it.

I have digital with DVR that is supposed to get hd.. Im not sure if it actually works though. I don't have an hd tv yet.

Could I plug in my monitor (or laptop) into it? It has a dvi port, all I would need is the cord.

HD inputs are Component (green blue and red chords), DVI (Digital Visual Interface) which is rectangular and has a little cross in it, and pins on the left side. HDMI is also HD, it uses the same method of transfer as DVI, but it also sends audio down the same chord. HDMI kinda looks like a usb chord. As long as you have one of those inputs, you have an HD ready Monitor. The thing with most cable companys is they do not throw up everything in HD, they only have specific channels in High Definition. For instence with Cablevision and Time Warner 2 is cbs, but 702 is cbs HD. Check out your lineup for more info.
