Malkin

I'm not going to say your an idiot, because you just like stirring the pot on here. We're talking about a guy who was arguably the best player on a russian team stacked with NHL talent. To think he'll have less points than the likes of Sean Horcoff, etc is ridiculous, and like most of your arguments, has no supporting logic.

But keep in mind that Malkin isn't Canadian, so he is automatically a worse hockey player. And also keep in mind that Canadian Made isn't Canadian either, so that makes him an idiot. Don't be afraid to say it.

Not too far off in my opinion though. He´s no guy that scores on his own or let´s say he won´t do that at the NHL level I fear. He is not build like Ovechkin and with the supporting cast in pittsburgh it will be difficult. I´d say 1 ppg max.

Hes bigger than Ovechkin if not mistaken isnt he? Most report that he is a much more fluid goal scorer than ovechkin, much like Mario was. I think this kid is the real deal, and I think he will be close to Ovechkin in impacting in a game.

Damn! Too many Euros eh Canadien Made

The bio i read on him puts him at 6'3" but from looking at a highlight video of him I'd hazard a guess at 6'4" maybe 5

To say he isn't a goal scorer is ridiculous. He is obviously a pass first player but he has the ability to snipe at any time.

I went to a 5 or 6 world junior games this year, and all the Russian ones, save the semi. First game I saw him live, he won the faceoff, passed to his D man, passed back, went end to end and rang one off the crossbar. All in 10 seconds or so of the game starting. Obviously the World Juniors isn't the show, but there are practically no players (read: 0) I saw the entire tourney that had that ability. His skating is reminiscent of Lemiuex's, he is effortless and pretty much glides as fast as most skate. He's also gigantic which never hurts.

He'll get around 60 points.

with crosby no way crosby is more of a playmaker than a scorer and now that he has somebody to set up malkin will definitely be in the scoring race

I remember there was talk that he had more potential and promise than Ovechkin, but that he was several years away from developing. Hence, Washington chose Ovechkin.

Shame they are both Centers ay

Crosby can play wing if needed! Even if he doesn't thats quite a 1,2 punch down the middle! I think with Malkin's vision he will be a great asset on the PP too! Malkin was said to have more potential than Ovy, what Malkin needs is people to stop saying hes worth ppg or what ever and just watch the kid play and develop! Goodtimes for fans of the game if you ask me!

Malkin and Crosby together on the PP will be SICK! I think Malkin will get 100+ points, as will Crosby... The penguins will be a serious contender in 3-4 years, if all goes right.

i think it is pretty a miracle for player beeing that tall, have good hands like that.

I know it kinda off-topic, but i think vincent lecavalier is one of the rare guy that are that tall 6'4 and can stickhandle like that. I'm 6'1 and i found my self a bit too higher to dangle very well, like the puck is to much away from me than let say a guys that his 5'10-11.

Don´t get me wrong. He´s one tall guy for sure but he need to fill his frame and from what I´ve seen his skating looks a little awkward as well. He´s a finesse player no doubt but from all the clips and games I´ve seen he has never been really put under pressure physically. I fear that he might have some problems adjusting to the NHL which is why I said he is not a la Ovechkin who came in fearless, got repect for that and contributed from day one. That´s why I think Malkin won´t hit 100 in his rookie year. In couple of years why not but not right away. I really like the guy though so I got no problem if he proves me wrong.

I think people just get that impression because he's so f'ing tall and lanky. He's got speed to burn......once he fills out, he'll be unstoppable.
