New skate Problem

Recommended Posts

I just bought a new pair of supreme 70 and was fitted a size 5.5 EE streched. I previously had been wearing skates that were way to big for me (6.5). The skates feel alright however i am having an awful time skating backwards which is a stronger area of my skating as i am a defenseman. Dooes anybody have an idea why. It feels as though im leaning alot more forward on my skates and this could be because im actually fitted right and not used to it.

correct me if im wrong but sounds like a radius or pitch problem.

You're correct, that's what it sounds like

yep sounds like so, the new bauer holder is longer 11" i think were the light speed 2 is 9" right guys also there supose to be more nutral in pitch(less on heels)

keep triing to get use to it or get the pitch changed

How could the pitch be changed. Would i need a new holder

Nope, just need to grind a little steel. Any quality shop can do that for you.

You may be in a smaller holder, as well. Check the bottom of your Tuuks to see if the 8090 is a 254 and the Supreme 70 is a 246. You also have LS2 Power steel now with the longer runner.

I called the shop i bought them from and the guy there recomended a toe lift. could this help?

A toe lift would put you on a reverse lean and you never want that. You want to be flat or leaning forward so a Heel lift would work not a toe lift. Or as Chadd mentioned a slight profile adjustment.
