Nike Swift Olympic Hockey Socks

Recommended Posts

RiverCity sold out. Some guy came in and ordered 100 pairs of them.....I wonder what he did with them? Probably kept one and gave the rest to friends and under-privileged bantams.

called it the first time I heard a guy came in and bought almost all of the stock.

Thats what they said to me when I ordered a pair they said was in stock, called acouple weeks later and wondered where they were and thats what they said. Bastard <_<

I have worn the Swift socks for a few games now. I like how the socks are so snug that I do not use tape at all. However, these socks are so snug that when I take them off after the game, my calf has the impression of the seams and back mesh of the socks on it! I am Theo Fleury size, BTW.

Just want you to know what to expect if you ever get a pair. Unlike top end skates, these socks don't add squat to your game. ;)

Really? Mine aren't nearly that tight...size Regular.

Have you had the fun of falling in them yet? JR warned me...I hit the ice wearing my EDGE socks, and slide just about Blue line to Blue line *L* I'd assume swift are roughly the same experience.

I don't slide too much when I hit the ice. Maybe a little more than normal socks, but nothing crazy.

They are ok. I wear them now because it's what I have in my hockey bag. I've found that I still need to wear tape and they're harder to get on because of an exposed velcro patch holds onto them.

The spandex up top on the thigh is nice, but thats about the only feature that I love.

For $10 they were an awesome pair. For $50? Forget it.

Imagine me wearing them, they are tight before I put shin pads on!

In my opinion, not unhappy about the original price but swift socks pretty much suck.

Another thing I've noticed is that after a game or two tape doesn't stick very well. I don't know if it has to do with body oils or what, but clear tape starts to come loose.

I didnt have that issue(I tape the lower part of the shit so it doesn't shift). I like the top part of the sock. The stripe feels plasticy and kind of cheap. I was not impressed.

I agree. After a while it cracks too. I'd like to try the Edge socks to compare.

definately happy with them for what i paid (9.99), never use tape and i love them for the velcro tabs. The only thing i dislike, like others have mentioned, is the super cheapo feeling/looking stripe

Same here, I bet EDGE is much better.

My only complaint with EDGE is that they don't have velcro...so you have to go back to garters.
