Dumont to Nashville?

I like the move but when the hell are they going to go and get a pure goal scorer?

There aren't many of those around

Radulov will be in this year and I hope he can develop into one, but the rarity you mentioned is what makes me more frustrated they traded Hall away. Not that he was a sniper by any means, but he would generate some of the better chances. As much as I love Sullivan I can't expect him to keep having to carry his load as well as Walker's now.

It's something mental with Kariya I think. He gets the looks but unless it's on the PP or the OT Shootout he doesn't put anything away. Maybe it's just rust and he'll build off last year.

I think Dumont can give you 30 goals if he plays with the right guys.

Edit: I just looked it up and he scored 20 in just 54 games last year. And I think I read that he way really clicking when he played with Briere and Hecht. Maybe one of our Sabres guys can tell us more.

Underrated player to an underrated team if it happens, definately a top six forward for a team building for the Cup and he is an upgrade on Walker, in my opinion.

Upgrade in talent yes. Upgrade in toughness, probably not.

With Dumont in, I dont think Radulov will play this season with wingers like Kariya/Sullivan/Erat/Hartnell/Dumont/Upshall/Tootoo.

Are you kidding me? The Preds have always been big on small, speedy Euro wingers so he'll be right on a line. There's plenty of room on the top lines considering Hartnell, Upshall and Tootoo will be on the lower lines. Hell, maybe they put Sullivan back at C for all I know. No one could be more useless than Legwand there and he's their #2.

most of the time he is an above average player. He always seemed to play well when surrounded by skilled players, but sometimes he had a habit of disappearing for a while. Not overly physical, but he seemed to get the job done here.

I think that with the situation in buffalo, along with the $ concerns, the team walked away from him because given the roster here and in rochester, he was the easiest player to replace.

Signing the right free agents for the right price and making smart trades is just as important as drafting well in the NHL.

Ya....hopefully Radulov will turn out to be a good player. Just wondering, most of the guys I know they have are signed in the off season....imagine what they could do if they drafted some talent.

I definitely agree on that. They drafted well in the expansion draft but seem to never do well (at least with a 1st rounder) in the entry draft. That said, they have to be doing something right overall with the scouting because their AHL team does well.

All i know is that Dumont is a great talent, dude can flat out put points on a board and in todays NHL, thats key...

There PP will be killer this year, they will be a hard team to defend against...

Hard to say who he'd play with as Trotz juggles lines quite a bit. Kariya and Erat usually stayed on the same line with either Perreault or Fiddler centering them.
