Warrior AK27 shaft and Black Beauty blade..

Recommended Posts

Hockey season started... so maybe some of one got their hands on one...

I was going for a sharpening at my store and they had the warrior ak27! for 120cnd!! I think that an excellent price.

Handle was wheelbarrow, weight(like UL)..grip..like my TFG. Look real nice.

I heard that the warror flex are stiffer than easton, but how really stiffer are they?

How is the balance of the shaft with a blade?? I was thinking about a Z-carbon!

#2. They also had the BB blade for 50cnd , they seem pretty light and not too soft, anyone tried them?? I tried their lie detector it show i should be using a 9 LIE!!!..Maybe i used it wrong!!

It would be nice to heard from you!

P.S: I know there is already a topi about the AK27...but i already read it ten times. and i was looking for something news, or update on the durability.

Thanks,

Good Season!

so you have the same combo as i would like to. Is there a torquing issue? not too light?(like a stealth). Is it holding nicely? and Finally, when you mean not as stiff as your xxx. are you saying it feel like 80?

by wheelbarrow grip you mean only the top hand is rounded right? If so, does it get thinner as it gets rounder? or does the thickness of the shaft stay relatively uniform?

I found my 85 Dolomite to more around a 90 on the Easton scale.

oh yeah?

i'm about to get something warrior, i was probably going to get the intermediate 70 flex to match my cyclone now, but i was thinking about just getting the 75 senior. hmm.

nah not really. i found the shaft to be like the vapor X or ''a mix of the SL and xn10'' concave in the inside and not boxy.

Maybe an owner of the ak27 could tell us more... that what i remember i could be wrong.. but it doesn't matter too much for me anyways..as i don,t have any problem adjusting to a different handle!

EDIT: I know for a fact it stay UNIFORM.

Well I haven't used an Easton 85 yet but the Warrior 85 is the whippiest I've used compared to a XXX which is slightly stiffer and a Hex-1 85 which feels like a 100. I haven't noticed any torqing issues, but the puck sometimes wobbles a bit when I shoot. And no, it isn't as light as a stealth.

from what i was told the warrior blade has a rockered heel so that the lie changes on the stick to fit how tall you are and how long the stick is after you cut it im not sure if its true but some guy at the LHS told me

Were you wearing skates when you used the lie detector?

You measured wrong. There is a bone in your hip joint that you can feel, this is the bone you need to use to measure. This bone is where your leg and waist meet, on the side of your body. You can feel where it is when you stand up and lift your leg up.

If you need, there are instructions for the Lie Detector at Black Beauty's site, www.bbsticks.com

You'll be seeing a lot of Black Beauty in Quebec, our rep there has done a great job.

There is a whole lot of Black Beauty products around here in Northern California. I know the rep and he also has done a great job distributing the products. I used the blades for a while and liked them.

When I used the lie detector I was read accurately but seem like a lot of things could go wrong w/ it. When you used it did you stand on some type of platform or were you on skates?

Nice to know they seem not so bad, anyone tried their blade? For 50 cnd they seem as good if not better-made than the ST at the same price.

The quality of the blades is fine. they feel stiffer than my dad's st blade. The no rocker thing can be weird if the lie is off. I could use a 5 or 5.5 in their blades w/ my sticks being a similar length. Hope it helps. :)

I still have one in the closet, least favorite blade I ever used.

I only used it for roller so it might be more suitable for that. I stopped using it because I found blades that had similar or better performance and better feel. Basically I moved on to OPS.
