Who is "WE"???...your not a mod and I thought this board was about getting and giving info to help each other. If a mod had a problem with this post, he would have squashed it or locked it up. I noticed they actually had some good info....

JR came back quickly with some help - MSH is not always going to be end all for info - the member asked for some help, and it was given. Senior members should know the value of not being confrontational.

Sorry if I created a big deal over nothing.....I didn't, and still don't believe that our job (our=every contributing member of the board) is to promote other message boards. In the same breath, I don't think that people on MSH should go on to other boards and try to get members here. Shorty's question was a dumb one if you ask me; if he went to google and typed in "hockey gear forum" he could have easily found numerous places to sell his gear. But I guess the one thing that bothered me most about this was that its pretty disrespectful of the board if you ask me. I don't think even know 1/10 of the stuff the mods do/have done to create and upkeep Mod Squad, but I think its a slap in the face if you ask them for other places to go. Again, this is all just my opinion. Maybe I just respect the mods and MSH more than others, but I never said anything to be confrontational.

I can tell you that I personally don't see it as a slap in the face. After all, in the grand scheme of things, we're just another web site. We do try to be the best one in our "genre" but you can't please everyone all the time. If someone wants to know about other places to go similiar to us, I have no problem helping them out.

I'm glad this was brought up. First of all, we don't have rules for everything. If we had every situation figured out and knew the best way to deal with them we'd still be at Core Beam. Honestly, before this thread, I wouldn't have known if linking to other message boards was ok. When new situations come up, feel free to discuss whether or not you think/feel it should be done and why. Present any and all issues or conflicts of interest you can identify. That way we can form solid reasons for our rules.

In this case, we want MSH to be the best MB and we want to spread as much hockey related information as we have. When I have new information, I share it and I hope everybody does the same. If we didn't do that there wouldn't be a reason for this place. I think it pleases both sides to say, "We hope that MSH is everything you need in a hockey MB, but similar message boards include Easton, CCM, Jofa and Koho."

Different strokes for different folks...that's why I laugh when CCM's forum bashes us and calls us arrogant.

I have an account on every major hockey MB around - except Easton :P and I post and just answer questions - not once referring to who I am and what I do.

first the reason i asked about them was I really needed to sell my vector and i did search on google, and i got all these weird ones, the only good one i got was hockeyforums. I just thought that ppl here would go to other forums than just this one, and i thought i could get some input of what they thought. Btw thank you all for those websites.
