Vegas

It's Fremont Street, not Fairmont. It's a dive compared to the strip casinos and clubs.

The space ship mall is the Fashion Show. It's across the street from the Wynn. The Forum Shops in Caesars is pretty neat to go in because of the design (but a little pricey)

If you want to venture farther off the strip than The Palms or The Rio go to Red Rock Station.

Yes it is true What happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas. But remember, Vegas cops don't play around, so if something does happen be nice and do what they say.

Sorry bout the misname- Been 6 years since we last went to LV so forgive me ;)

For some reason every time we go to Vegas it is all fuzzy and blurry for a couple days after.

True that Fremont is nothing compared to the strip, but you still need to go check it out.

Looks like we will be heading out to Vegas in September.

My boss just hooked me up with tickets to the Nascar Truck races out there :D

I might have to get ahold of my buddy that works for Kendrick Motor Sports and see what kind of hook ups he can swing for us!

Yo Kosydar, I am in the same boat, headin out there for my friends bday, room comped at Harrah's and everything else paid for. All we have to supply is gambling and drinking so let me know whats good for a college kid. Although sitting around in the big comfy chairs in AC, betting and drinking does sound like a great time at the Bellagio

Good places for young crowds from what I've seen/heard:

Hard Rock - the bar in the middle of this place gets crazy on weekends with a lot of So Cal tramp stamps (and they offer Red Bull and Vodka which not every place does). They also a club called Baby's which is good. Great hotel. If you weren't staying at Wynn I'd recommend staying here just so you can hang out at their pool.

In the Mandalay I think, there are some good bars like Red Square and Rum Jungle.

At Palms, there is Ghost Bar and Rain. I think Ghost Bar is much harder to get into but late on the weekends both of them are pretty tough to get in. Ghost Bar gets a lot of celebs and sports guys.

The club at the top of Rio is good as someone else said.

Stay away from the strip clubs if you don't want to lose hundreds of dollars. (Unless his dad gives you lots of spending cash - then it's perfectly ok to blow it on strippers.)

If you do, please go to the Spearmint Rhino. You can thank me later.

We went the first night we got down there....and then again the next night. I've never been anywhere quite like it. His dad ended us giving us each quite a nice amount of spending money, I couldn't think of a better place to drop it. Its crazy, there are something like 400 girls working there each night, so you can really go the entire night without seeing the same girl twice. Even the bad ones are amazing.

I can't really say that my trip was very touristy in most regards. We really only stayed at the Wynn because we could eat/drink there for free, except for last night when we went to the Playboy Club at the Palms. That is easily the best club that I've been to (not that I've been to a lot, but still). Our group had a reservation, but it seems like it would be hard to get in without one. When I left there was easily 200+ people lined up trying to get in.

Didn't really sightsee or anything, because I was the only one in the group who hadn't been there before. I ended up not having to stay on the budget that I had anticipated, which was nice. As far as gambling goes, the Wynn was far too expensive for us. The cheapest games they offer are $25 blackjack, craps and roulette. We found $10 roulette at the Mirage which was fun, and $5 at O'Sheas which is this shithole on the strip by Imperial Palace. Still, $5 single deck blackjack is fun, especially if you're just messing around and getting the free drinks. Honestly, Vegas might be the greatest place ever.

I guess I did a bad job of gambling advice. If you're on a short budget, but want to gamble for a while to have fun and get free drinks, find a $5 or $10 Pai Gow table. You can seriously play for hours since the game is a little slow and there's a lot of splits between you and the dealer. I know that had cheap tables at the Stardust, which isn't far from the Wynn at all.

Damn, I was there two years ago. Well, I only suggested it because it was close to the Wynn. I'm sure other places have cheap Pai Gow.

Gonna bump this...

Going down Spring Break with four of my buddies. We're looking to get just one room on the strip that has two beds and a pullout couch. It seems like this will have to be a suite, which is fine. Anybody have any ideas on a decent suite on the strip that doesn't cost too much? If we can't find one we'll end up just getting a couple shitty rooms at the IP, but we'd obviously like to stay together. I'd say we'd be willing to spend $600 for the weekend (three nights).

600 will be no problem I don't think. I work on the strip and a lot of the hotels can't give away rooms. The room rates are pretty cheap and they are giving away comped meals, show tickets, slot play, etc. My advice, just look around and you might be able to find yourself a pretty sweet deal.

I've been told by a few people to just show up in Vegas with no reservations and go to a hotel of your choice to bargin for a room, they basically won't let you leave until you've got a price you are happy with. As the above poster said, they can't give away rooms right now.

If I was going on an off weekend, I'd be more than happy to do it. But because its Spring Break I'd rather not run the risk of having to stay off the strip.

Guys, something that has worked incredibly well for me in the past is priceline.com.

other than their goofy commercials with Captain Kirk, you can actually place a bid for a hotel, flight, rental cars, etc and they send the bid to all of the potential companies to see if they want your business at the rates you have bid.

I have used their service and it is awesome.

i just googled what the rates were posted for various things and then put my bid in and 30% less (an average margin they potentially could use for their goods/services) and then they email you back with whether you got what you were after for your price or not...

I say thumbs up for priceline.com

The Stardust is really far from everything...they blew it up over a month ago

Over two years ago, almost :)

As far as strip clubs go, I for one, think the Spearmint Rhino is overrated, but that's just me.

Scores is my personal fave, I'm biased because I have a few people I know over there. Seamless is definitely a good one, too.

You won't need a room for the first 36 hours in Vegas anyway, so this is probably a good plan. If it's spring break, expand that to 72 hours. If need be, just take a nap on a bench or at a table... everyone else does. If you're worried about a place to hook up with a girl, that's why they have floor to ceiling doors in the bathrooms.

Anyone ever stayed at the MGM Signature? They have some cheap suites that seem really nice.

The Signature rooms are amazing. The whole hotel is. There is no gaming there, but it's like a 5 min walk on one of those moving escaltors to MGM Grand. If you can get it cheap, book it.

I'm heading down to Vegas next week with the girlfriend. I know it may not be the ideal situation for Vegas, but any suggestions on places to eat, things to do, where to gamble, good clubs, etc? We aren't looking to break the bank, so cost friendly alternatives would be best, but we don't mind spending on quality.

The triumverate of cheap gambling is right in the middle of the strip. O'Sheas, Imperial Palace, and Casino Royale will have the lowest minimums on the Strip. Directly across from the Bellagio.avoid the big casinos unless you are willing to play $10-$25 minimums. For eats, Hash House A Go-Go in the Imperial Palace is redonkulous for breakfast food. In N Out, Capriottis, and Fatburger are also must gets as they are regional for the area. Wynn buffet is marginal, Rio won buffet of the year this year. Shows- Penn and Teller, The Amazing Johnathan, and Cirque du Soleil's Love.
