I said it in another thread but why the hell isn't Emery playing? The kids got good numbers, and even if they continue to blow it, its still great playing experience.

I don't get it either, Emery is more then capable of handling himself and yet they play Gerber. Can't Ottawa take a hint as to why the 'Canes pulled Gerber in favour of Ward, why wouldn't they continue to play Emery if he played that good for Ottawa during the playoffs. That aside I don't think that someone will get fired before a trade happens....

Gerber isn't even a bad goalie, a lot these goals are exactly what Kelly Hrudey mentioned on BtM saturday. He just has to get around and find the puck. I wonder if he was just never taught to do this. The goalies in NCAA, prep, junior, and all the other lower levels are all doing it.

Maybe Carolina and Ottawa play different styles, so Gerber is screened more?

Or, maybe the opposing teams' scouts saw that Gerber doesn't look around the screens or move up to them, so that is what opposing teams are concentrating on doing now?

Then Gerber lost his confidence, and started flubbing the ones he should have had.

The word I hear is that Muckler will get the axe before Murray. But it could wind up being a 2 For deal like what happened in Philly, the exception being Mucks won't have the chance to resign before actually being fired.

I'm hearing it's a package deal and they'll go together since Muckler won't fire Murray and Murray wants Muckler

Gerber's has talent, but his stats, aside from wins, last season aren't magical. He's a much better goalie than he is showing, but not worth his cotnract at the best of times.
