I was at Friday's game v. the Wild. He was in the press box which is just a few feet above the top row of seats. Some people spent more time watching him than the game. People were trying to get autographs during intermissions, but he only gave them to kids.

The intensity in his eyes while he watched the game was unreal. The Wings would score and he would clap, write something down and stare into space.... Looked like he missed being there with his teammates

I think my mom and sister got me the Yzerman jersey I've been wanting for the last 20 years for Christmas

He might pull a Mario and come back next season... right? Maybe he's guy to champion against Bettman and his crazy plans for killing the league.

I've always disliked the red wings but yzerman was always a top notch guy. He was the only reason why I ever watched a red wings game. That video was put together well, would have been nicer if they showed him score a few more times, it seemed to focus more on him getting beaten up than scoring... but still a nice video.

i also have always hated the red wings, but man, what a warrior. Like TBL said, hes the only reason i could stomache Wings games. i never realized how long injuries have plagued him... what an extremely classy man.

Stevie Y's retirement is a sad day for the NHL. I was never a Wings fan, but always admired the way Yzerman carried himself and played. Total class act.
