New Warrior Gloves

Recommended Posts

The ones I saw were nylon with the inserts. And yes they are the KingPin with only diff. graphics. As far as I could tell. They did feel nice but I remember someone posting the palms where out quickly.

I was expecting the kingpin to let your hand move more like a lacrosse glove because of Warrior's history, but I tried it on and it feels like any normal hockey glove with little movement. I especially don't like lock thumbs. They just don't move.

Are you kidding? So in your opinion, what glove does move?

i think IMO vapor lock thumb are the most mobile thumbs you can have.

and the ccm tacks line could be the worst mobile!

There are a bunch of gloves on the market with "mobile" lock thumbs...in fact, pretty much all of them do.

I thought he was referring to the whole glove, not just the thumb. But yeah there are gloves with more mobile thumbs. I'd rather have a stiff thumb than a broken one though.

The Mission L-1 moves pretty well...but it doesn't last. Mine are falling apart and I only play intramural and pickup hockey now. I don't know, I don't get out to hockey shops very often, but Easton and Mission gloves seem to have quite a bit of movement in them. I tried a Tackla 5000 glove on that had a decent amount of movement. And wearing L-1s probably does risk injury, there's not much protection there.

If a "lock thumb" is mobile, then it truly isn't a lock thumb. "Mobile" lock thumbs either are stitched through, thus creating a perforation, which, can break your thumb on a fall, or, aren't true lock thumbs (usally two different "stiff" pieces of plastic). That type of break, the plastic breaking your thumb, will hurt more, as well as cause more damage than an "open handed" fall to the ice that breaks your thumb.
