Any Good Stores In Vancouver for Pro-Stock Sticks

Recommended Posts

I am looking around for a pro-return stick in the Vancouver lower mainland. Does anyone know any stores that carry a fair amount of sticks? I really need to know soon.

I was in the Sports Exchange today and they had a number of XX and XXX prostocks from the WHL. 125 for XX and 200 for XXX, and a decent selection. 2151 Burrard in Vancouver.

I've seen only a handful at the following locations:

Cyclone Taylor - Vancouver

The Hockey Shop - Surrey

Rocket Rod's - Delta

Sports Exchange - Vancouver

What's your facination with pro stock equipment -- especially if you don't know what you're looking for? I just don't get it.

Because its labeled "Pro" so it has to be better, right?

people like to be seen playing with that little name plate, that says "fitzpatrick," since everyone takes a look at what stick you are using when you are playing

Ditto...

And he makes a good point: I would go with cheaper pro stock than retail for ANY piece of hockey equipment...period.

Had to bring up this old topic.

I'm going to Ridge Meadows in Spring break for a tournament, and i'm trying to build my stick collection for next season already. I have a buddy that has bought a few XXX Lite Pro stocks from cyclone taylors (Vancouver giants) and I just want to see if there is anything in or around the Mainland area that I would be willing to buy pro stock wise.

The problem w/ getting Pro-Stock sticks is that most are very stiff. So unless you are very heavy and or strong.

Definately check out the Sports Exchange in Vancouver. It's been a while since I've been there, but they've been putting a bunch of RBK sticks on ebay lately.

Was just at Docksteader Sports in Surrey. They had maybe a half dozen Edmonton Oilers pro stocks. Tarnstrom SL's, Stoll Stealth, Hemsky ST, and Torres Synergy.

Just called them and they said that they didn't carry any. I don't know if is true or not but maybe odp must have seen them with the regular stock sticks.

Yes, they were mixed in with the retail sticks. Didn't notice any price tags on any of them though. Also forgot to mention there was a blank nameplate ST with a retail Sakic curve. It had the pro-stock lack-of-warranty warning.

Most of these sticks your seeing are they RH or LH? I know Hemsky is Rh but i'm not sure about other Oilers.

Sports Exchange is carrying a lot of RBK sticks right now. I think some may be the actual RBK 7V Sickicks and some may be painted CCM V10.0s as sickicks. After I picked mine up I noticed a V10.0 sticker on the shaft of my Jagr Pro Stock. Its a great deal for 100$.
