Got mad money, 2 sticks in mind

Recommended Posts

Felt the stealth... no way a defense stick. Feels like a tooth pick.

I like the Synergy ST and Bauer Vapor XXX. Durability, which wins! I have $300 layin around :D

Didnt like the synergy 350 I bought although it was strong. Just not that great. Sold it for like $50.

(note $300 extra bucks is mad money for me as I make $7.05 an hour at a pet store working 10-20 hours a week.)

There are times when keepin it real goes wrong.. :P

Good thing I am still in highschool.

Also would anyone advise against pro stock sticks?

My cousin bought two prostock Synergy Grips last year for around 200 bucks.

No breaks in either, just for rec play.

Why buy one, when I can have two?

Just wanting to know others experiences with pro stock sticks.

I prefer pro stock for the variety in flexes and curves, but they're also not protected by a warranty. That may sway you since you're on a budget, but the pro stocks are cheaper than a retail model.

can you buy the xxx and st for under $300?

also, you wouldnt be bragging about your mad money would you?

you shouldnt be talkin since you brag about everything.

According to what i have reead the 30 is very good performance wise and people have had problems with the durability. The ST is strong and very durable a number of my friends have them and they last LONG.

I've been using a XXX for about two months now and absolutely love it. It feels very balanced and has great puck feel. I also have a XXX Lite pro-stock I ordered from EW Hockey that will arrive tommorow; it was the right flex and a different pattern I want to try out. Never tried the ST but a few guys I play with swear by them.

Ah yes I think I may have confused some people, as I didnt really ask a question in my first post. Should have used a question mark after "which wins."

And no I wouldnt brag about $300, just simply stating my situation as just a few weeks ago I was posting about budget ops and not wanting to dump 170 on a stick.

Anyway as far as getting both an XXX and an ST... Sure I could get both for around $300. Buy a prostock ST for $110 and an XXX for $180.

Excluding taxes of course.

My LHS has normal ST sticks for 140 and ST Grips for 150.

Seems like a good buy to me. They also have Vector 8.0 for $150, and MacDaddys for $180. Just went there last night to check out and maybe buy if I saw something that really stood out. The CCM seem'd heavier than the ST though.

I picked up a SynergyII shaft and it seems like it would break.

They have the SII Grip for 120 though.

one thing i would suggest is getting two of the same stick. when you break one in a game you wont have to worry about not being used to the other or anything like that. on my team we are required to have two of the same sticks and curves for that reason

From personal experience, I would say go with a ST. I'm using a ST right now and its amazing, holds up great too. I wouldnt ever buy a bauer stick again. They break way to easy, everyone of them.

I bought an ST Grip for $159.

Cant wait to use it on friday!!

It was either that or the RBK 7K.

The guy at the LHS said they were both the same in durability, but since I have heard so many people say the ST was a tank, I went with it.

The 7k is really hott tho, next on my to get list.

the new TSP redlite in my opinion

my tps sticks always last the longest

i play 2-3 times a week (drop in plus league) and my pro stock bertuzzi is still kickin it strong after over a year

My Dolomite is still a tank, though I've heard from some people that there are cases where the things snap like twigs. Or maybe I'm just not strong enough to get enough flex out of it. But I highly doubt that. I'm ripped. Seriously. 150 lb. of raw man.

I say go with the ST, Ive had mine for a full inline season and half of ice and all there is on the stick is puck and stick marks. Its great for durability and performance wise its great and for the most part it shoots like a cannon.

I got the new blue ST back when it came out and I love it. It's been through a lot and it's still in good shape. I recently bought the silver '05 version because it was on sale. I've used it in practice and like it just as much. I'll probably buy pro stocks from now on b/c you can get two for not much more than the price for one retail. And there's more of a selection. The only downside is not having a warranty, but to me it doesn't matter b/c these things are tanks.
