fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 Hey guys, I'm gonna be travelling a fair bit in the US in Feb (13 flights in 21 days) but will be stopping over the weekends of 10-11 Feb in Indianapolis and 17-18 in Atlanta? Any ideas what I can do or see? The guy I'm travelling with is also a sports fan, and we both wanna catch some games (doesnt need to be hockey, or pro sports). chikinpotpie 137 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 Indy is pretty sparse on weekends if the Colts or the Pacers aren't playing. If you're in the downtown area, come check out my shop if you need any gear.
figgifumi_11 3 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 Tons to do in Atlanta... Thrashers or Gwinnett Gladiators if you want to catch a hockey game. If you like basketball you can go to a Hawks game (they practically pay you to come and watch them play). Buckhead and Midtown are goods spots for some nightlife especially if you are there on a weekend (check out Maco's). The Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coke are cool. Lenox Mall and Phipps Plaza are good if you are looking for some high-end shopping. Any questions just let me know :)Damon

fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 hey chikinpotpie... pm me your address... am intending to get some gear when I am there.am going to be driving a fair bit, so its not going to matter that much. just for info, we're going to be driving from Indianpolis to Charleston WV, then flying into Atlanta. From there we will be driving to Birmingham, then Memphis...Its a fair hike, but we'd rather drive and see the country than sit and stare at the insides of another plane.Indianapolis and Atlanta are gonna be our rest stops where we stay from more than 2 days. The rest of the places are gonna be touch and go.
fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 ok.... got some details for stay in Indianapolis.Feb 10 - Indiana Ice vs Cedar RapidsFeb 11 - Pacers vs ClippersAny ideas where is the best place to sit for a hockey game?
mack 44 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 If you stay in Memphis longer than it takes to drive through it, I hope you're armed.
chikinpotpie 137 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 The ice play at the state fairgrounds which is a horrible arena compared to some of the others around the country. I wouldn't really suggest to waste your time and money if you have been to a number of Higher level hockey games. If you have never been to a game in person, go ahead it might be intresting for you. The rink address is 201 south capitol and is fairly easy to find because we are across the street from the RCA dome (where the Colts play) If you are staying in the downtown area, everything is within walking distance. Check out our website www.iwsa.org for the phone number.
fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted January 11, 2007 havent been to any game yet, so it should be interesting. As for Memphis, we're just passing thru before flying to LA and then back to Sydney...Chikinpotpie, have you got any axles for the tour beemers? need to get a set of 8... As for other gear, I'm pretty much set, but ALWAYS open to getting new stuff...thanks guys... Kev
D-MaN88 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2007 Chikin, I've been meaning to ask you, do you happen to work at PanAm? And FatWabbit, there is Circle Center mall as well, not as great as everyone in Indiana hypes it up to be, but a 3-story mall none-the-less if you need something to do. Also a little hint, it seems like Indiana is the state of restaurants so at least you'll never be hungry as well!
chikinpotpie 137 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 Yup, I run the shop at Pan AM.

chikinpotpie 137 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 I was watching the game and heard your dad say that you had broken your steel so I just followed you down stairs. Then I got back in time to see you try to go around a guy..and I think you remember how that turned out. Glad it worked out for you.
Slapshot9123 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2007 Yea i know how that ended, lol. We didnt even belong in that toruny either did that team. It was a midgit major tourny 89 88 birth year and my team is a midget minor team 90 91 birth year only 2 kids are 90s so it was pretty unmatched. I herd one of their parents saying they are the 7th ranked AAA team in canada.
