Building a hockey locker

Recommended Posts

does anybody have blueprints/instructions or a "how to" build an NHL style dressing room stahl? im in need because i dont have a lot of room and i think this might be the easiest way for me to hang my gear up plus it would look really cool. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hell I'd just design it yourself, then you can make it look as cool as you want, with any features that you want. Beer fridge under the seat? You got it. Bottle opener attached to side wall? Its all yours. I think it would be way more fun and rewarding just to design it yourself.

It's not like it has to be a certain size to "work". Do what will work for you, customize it for your gears size and w/e. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of this if you get'er done.

This is the one my dad made for me many years ago. It's now in my basement furnace / work room, still in use. It takes up a fair bit of space, but i like it just the same.

Mostly empty showing the kind of hooks used.

If you really want to go all out, go to home depot and get some small duct and make an air distribution system that you can put a hairdryer or two in the ends and have it blow air over your equipment when you hang it up!

You'll have to figure out the dimensions, otherwise I would be breaking patent laws.

Anyone else find it hard to believe that design would be patented? If seen more complex drawings in pre-school... Does that mean that anyone who builds a locker is a criminal? I mean it's a locker... unless it's built using like aerospace grade carbon fiber, not too much there that is original...

I hope he was joking but i didn't really get that impression... hard to tell through text i guess...

But hell ya i've always wanted to build a locker or a custom locker room. I'd pimp that shit hardcore... Like flip down lcd screens, speakers in the lockers, xbox 360 with wireless controllers... sick nasty... lambro doors for the bench seat lol... i'd have to find a way to include some chrome and some spinners in there somewhere...

the pro team at my rink has a cabinent under the bench (flip it up and you have your own compartment). I don't like that cuz all your stuff is all stuffy inside and no room to air out.

Hey, as long as the locker is yours, why not make it, say, 3 times wider than they usually are?

ya the cabinet under the bench is pretty common... i've spent a lot of time in the Miami University Varsity locker room, top ten all year long btw... and theirs is very old school and simple, but they take amazing care of it... All wood, nice big stalls... Theirs dont but its common for that compartment underneath to have a vent on the front...

Yes, I was joking :P I was being a smart ass haha :D I thought the ridiculousness of my ms-paint drawing and statement would translate, but I guess it didn't completely. In other words I was saying, as others have said, design one that fits what you need or want. But I can understand wanting one that is, or similar to, an NHL style.

To try and make up form my being a smart ass, this "Game Day with Jarret Stoll" video, at 2:30 in, shows what the lockers for the Oilers look like.

Jock in the helmet, yep. I haven't forgotten it yet! I was expecting a comment on that. <_<

Actually I have two that I rotate so I can launder the other, along with my t-shirts, underwear and socks. It's not quite as strange that way.
