Question that Questions My Manhood

Recommended Posts

Its been very cold and dry here for the past month. My skin, especially my face has become really dry and irritated, almost like its chaffing. Anyone have any good suggestions on what to do? I've tried a few moisturizing soaps and lotions and haven't found one that works. And before anyone asks, I already feel shame.

I was kinda scared as I clicked that link. After all, it IS a site titled 'Mayo Clinic' in a site about putting stuff on your face...

Aveeno with oatmeal is both expensive and effective. I recommend this. I was forced to see a Dermatologist because of an extreme case of dry skin and this is the off-the-shelf lotion she prescribed for me. Thankfully it worked. I had to apply every 2-3 hours in a day.

Pick up a bottle of Lucky Tiger liquid cream shave from Nordstroms. Won't tear up your face even when it is dry and chafed. You can always put on a light and I mean light coating of vaseline on your face before you go to bed.

Like any ol' he-man I use Nivea. I'm not very particular but it's held up on the hands/face in the brutal winter and keeps the money-maker in good shape.

Nivia is good.

Cetafil is good too.

Living in the desert beats up on your face.

See a dermatologist or at least your family doctor. Try putting a humidifier in your bedroom. Moisturize as soon as you get out of the shower. I had a similar problem once, and my doctor recommended this as an over-the-counter solution, and it worked pretty well: http://www.rxcarecanada.com/Uremol%2020%20...p?prodid=177907. Not sure if it is available in the U.S.

Years ago, my older sister told me her theory that our bodies produce their own emollients and develop natural balance, so she no longer used soap on her face. It made sense to me, so the only "soap" I use on my face is rubbing in my shampoo while I rinse, as well as an occasional warm water rinse during the day. It seems to be effective, as I seldom get dryness in my face, and Colorado is a dry state.

My lips, however, are a different story. I never needed lip balm until moving to Colorado.

Coco butter or Shea butter. But only use a little bit cause it's really thick and will clog your pores (pimples) if you use too much.
