Graf 703 vs 705

Recommended Posts

What are all of the fit differences between these two skates?

I've been skating in 705's, they fit fine except my left heel has been slipping (mid and slightly to the outside) and causing quite a bit of discomfort.

I wore Bauer 1000's, I got them when they were top of the line, in size 8. My 705's are size 8.

I took out the footbed and compared the two, they are the same length and width, up until the mid-foot and heel. My toe indents in the footbed are at the spots.

Are the 703's more narrow in the heel? Would this prevent the slippage if they are?

Is there anyway to make the 705's more narrow so my heel doesn't slip?

703s are more narrow in the forefoot and I'm not aware of any realistic way to make the heel more narrow.

Would a deeper cut boot help in a situation like this? The way I'm thinking, a deeper boot can wrap around the ankle a little better, and keep it in place. Am I just crazy?

get the 735's. they fit the same in the front as a 705, but have a narrower heel.

you don't want the 703's, they are an overall narrower fit.

I have the 703s and the 705s. The 705s are really snug and comfortable. To get the same feel, my 703s are half a size larger. Are your feet significantly different in size (left smaller than right)?, If so, then you might have to get different sized skates for each foot.

You still want the heel locked in place and not slipping around.

I have both the G3's and 705's. I wear a 9.5 in the G3 and a 10 in the 705. I do feel that the G3 fits me more snug. I've never tryed on a pair of 735's though.

BTW; Where can you get different sized skates for each foot without paying for two pair of skates?

My left foot is a bit smaller then my right so the heel was moving up and down a bit after they were baked, so when they were still warm, or the guy warmed the heel of the skate in the office with a heat gun or something, and just put the skate back on my foot and squeezed the heel. The skate fits perfect now...

You could try that...

It depends on what options you get, but most customs have an automatic upcharge of around $100 on top of base price. Some options will cost more. Your best bet is to ask at your LHS. Also keep in mind that graf makes 4 different skate lines for different foot or skater types. One of them may fit your wonky feet.

The 705 is a deeper fitting, slightly wider at the forefoot and toe area, and a stiffer boot than the 703. That's the straight up facts on them. I like the 705 fit better. I have a slightly wider foot and the 705 works better comfort wise for me.

Can anyone compare either of these models to the now discontinued 704.

I have a pair of 704's that I bought a long time ago, but they are too long, about 1/2 inch, so I went to something else. The 704's had this incredible padding around the ankle that really locked me in without having to tug the laces too much. I like my RBK 5K's but sometimes miss the other things the 704's offered.
