most worn nhl pants

Recommended Posts

I can't see the NHL forcing players with endorsement contracts to wear one manufacturer's pant. NBH, Easton, RBK, CCM, Tackla all make pro stock pants...and I don't think the NHL would want to get into that kind of a pissing contest. From the sweater/jersey perspective, the NHL can enforce teams to use a single vendor for the purposes of uniformity, but not individual equipment. It could be possible to force them to use a shell from a single vendor, but certainly not the pant itself.

i've always wondered what pants most nhl players use. are they modified for them? how so?

Most players wear a shell of whoever they endorse.

Not everybody....look at EWH pro stock pants as an example...plenty of Easton and NBH (Bauer 5000) pants around. Old habits last.

I could see the league making players wear matching RBK shells for the RBK jerseys.

More likely than not, other manufacturers will have the ability to match up shells to the new jerseys. I don't see them giving up that kind of advertisement opportunity without a fight.

From what I've seen, the RBK pants (pro stock) hold up better than any other companies pants. Last year (D1 college) we replaced all our guys pants mid-season (Easton), this year we haven't replaced any(RBK). The Easton pants went to crap by the end of the season, even being replaced mid-season. Too bad the RBK is not a retail pant. I imagine where the equipment guys have their say, they're pushing the RBK pants. I've talked to a few guys that have been swaying their guys into them.

The press release during the all star game stated that the NHL players will not be required to wear RBK pants next season (2007/2008). Beyond that I don't know.

I can't imagine that NBh is happy with that at all. I guess they'll have to settle for not having their name/logo displayed on pants or a bigger off-ice marketing campaign.
