A conviction may cause a problem with his scholarship. By pleading not guilty it may delay the case long enough for the frozen four to be completed. Then he can go play for the Blackhawks.

you plea not guilty because it opens the door for you to take a deal and get convicted of a lesser charge. If he just plead guilty, he would have got hit with a stiffer penalty then what hes going to end up with.

Are there really laws like this in other states? Or better yet, they actually enforce this crap? I can see not letting him drink, but merely being in a bar is an offense? Around here you would just get kicked out of the bar.

What I'm sure he expected - that it's a college town, so who cares if one more out of thousands of college kids goes to a bar?... When I first read the headline "Jonathan Toews Arrested" when the story came out, I thought he had killed someone or something. My only reaction when I read the story was "... that's it?!" What kind of a non-crime is that to arrest someone for? He should have claimed diplomatic immunity or something because he's from Manitoba, and the legal drinking age there is 18.

Laws are laws but I would take Bina on my team any day after he tried to open the car doors up to get teammates out.

I must say I'm a little confused about Haiti's stance there... Is it okay to have sex with a six year old there if they get drunk first?
