LETS PLAY HOCKEY St. Paul expo

Recommended Posts

The expo is up here next week during the highschool hockey finals. I'll be going to the show and just wanted to let you guys know that I'll be bringing the camera, so if anyone wants any pics of specific items, post in here and I'll do my best to get detailed shots for you all.

Don't be that guy.

Not only that, there's nothing at that show that hasn't been discussed or seen already on MSH.

No i dont know Aaron. Did he work for us before?

Graf's booth is usually very small, if they even have one.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up! Don't know if I'll make it out or not, but I'll sure try.

Do they sell anything at these expos? I'm looking to try out some of the "old-school" shoulders but haven't had much luck at the places around here. Probably have to look harder.

Oh, and Westwood rocks, but I've only gone to the Bloomington one :P Don't let anyone else touch my skates.

The hottest item at the show every year is the new sticks. The individual companies are not allowed to sell direct to the public, so they sell to the stores instead. (Examples- Us, Daves, Strauss, what ever stores have booths.) To be entirely honest, Im not sure if equipment is available for sale, mostly because there isnt a high demand at this point in the season. Sticks seem to always be in demand, haha.

That is actually not true...the manufacturers can sell at this show if they want to, but out of loyalty to the retailers, most choose to run it through a retailer. You will find some smaller companies that will sell direct from their booth. We typically have Westwood process anything we sell at this show. Historically, we've sold more lacrosse than hockey considering the time of the year.

Ah i stand corrected. This will be my first year, so I was just going with info i was given. Thanks for correcting that.

Graf isn't going to have a booth per the vendor list I saw in the latest issue of Let's Play Hockey.

I find the show annoying...little kids running all around for free crap and not much in the way of new or future equipment.

I'd much rather attend an industry show rather than one geared towards high school kids and their parents.

For a small company like us that relies heavily on customer feedback, there is not a better show out there. We generate more business out of the LPH show than any other show out there.

To your point, however, the kids running around does get tiresome and can make for some very long days!

Westwood is a good place to stop..I've gotten a few pairs of skates there the last few years. Anyone know what happened to that old LHS out on Hwy55 just west of Plymouth going towards the Medina Ballroom? I always liked that place too. Never been to Dave's, is that up in Blaine?

There is a Daves in Fridley and Maple Grove. I go to the one in MG all the time, pretty decent store.

The place off 55 was called Slapshot Hockey. I think they have been out of that location for a good few years now. I live about 5 mins down the 55 from there, and I haven't seen it there in a while.

Yea, I used to go there when I lived in Minnetonka, and then when I moved to the SW suburbs, I rarely ventured up that direction anymore. I liked that shop though. The owner always gave me some sweet deals and I bought my 952s and tackla pants for a sweet deal.

ill be there...Edinas winning it

Edina's winning it only because Holy Angels screwed themselves for the second year in a row! Damn those punks!!!

Hill Murray isnt the program they used to be. Seems like St Thomas Academy and Holy Angels have become the prominent private school powers.

My money is on Roseau or Edina.

Despite how it turns out, Holy Angels is still the most talented high school hockey team in the country. Not only did they beat Shattuck, but they did so convincingly.

Of course I am biased...I am an HA alum. Gotta route for the alma matter!

Haha actually i play for Apple Valley. The team who beat them last year.

One of those games youll remember for the rest of your life. Probably the best feeling you could ever have.
