Response Lite

Recommended Posts

Looking at EWH's Pro Stock TPS sticks, what is the major difference between the Response 'Plus' and Response 'Lite'?

And with that, how does the Response Plus compare to the XN10?

I have a walker pro stock lite. I like it alot. I can't comment on how it compares to the other tps's because this is my first one. I used it 3 times and got a crack in the toe of the blade. I had it fixed with stickfix and haven't gotten a chance to use it again. Before it cracked I really liked it. I like it better than my SL. I kind of like the grip zone on it to.

i just got a frolov reg. flex and it is by far better than any SL or vapor XXX lite... i like how the blade is thinner and the grip zone is very light but just enough...

the r8 is one of best stick I had try but it's not a durable stick ( I broke mine after one period). and it's was a warranty return for my broken xn10 tucker.

When I broke my first the lady was shocked as it was the first return she has done for them. I dealt with TPS directly, and not the LHS either.

Sounds durable to me, and it's been fairly durable too.

I got my response lite today...

*Please note that both the xn10 and the response lite are pro stock so they may or may not be similar to the retail sticks*

Weight:

XN10 465g

response lite 450g

The XN10 shaft shape is rectangular with bulges at the corner moreso than concave. The response lite is a regular tps concave, similar to my response plus. Both blades look very similar, the weaving is practically identical. The feel on the response lite is better which is saying a lot considering how good the XN10 is in that department. The textures on the two sticks are nothing alike, the XN10 almost feels like it's coated in the same stuff as wood sticks are, the response feels very nice; slightly textured (on the non-grip zone part) probably just from the coating. Lastly the "grip-zone" has a very light grip, one of the lightest grips I've felt... very nice.

*once again they are both pro stock sticks so they may differ from actual retail sticks*

P.S. Both are regular flex, the XN10 is a "RP19" and the Response lite is a "Walker"

I broke mine the first game I have play with it in the 1st period. I had made a pass and the stick broke in my hands. but it was a warranty return.

TBL- Thanks for that comparison.

I was toying between the XN10, and the Response Plus, and decided on the Plus.

Glad I did, it has been unreal good. Granted, I've only had it for a grand total of 36 hours, but last night I felt possessed with it. It was probably just mental.

It's seriously one of nicest, most balanced, and lightest sticks I've ever owned or used.

It's a Pro Stock Steiner / Regular Flex. Who the hell Steiner is, I have no idea. There isn't even a record of a (recent player) Steiner in HockeyDB.

The blade pattern is almost what I would consider a dream for me. Nice heel curve, with an open face, square toe, and deep curve. I just can't get over the balance and light weight of this stick.

Its definantly not.

I love mine by the way. Been using it for almost 2 weeks now, and I wont switch to anything else right now. Great kick, trememdous feel, great pop on shots. I would definantly reccomend it. No signs of wear either. The only thing that comes off its the "response" part that is in foil like material

Does anybody have any more comments on the durability thus far? I cracked the blade at the toe my 3rd time out and got it repaired. Now it is cracking through that too. I really like the stick but don't want to buy another one if it is going to break on me right away. Just wondering if mine was a fluke or something.

I used mine for a fair bit, about 40 days which is good for me. Broke at the fuse point on a one-timer, so no complaints about the wear and tear.

I thought it had a bit less kick than the Xn10, but better feel. I like TPS sticks in general though.

For those who have broken the sticks, is it like the Xn10 where you can just pull out the old blade if you heat it enough?

Just got mine in today!!! wow very lite much like an sl/se, se mabey a little better balanced talkin fraction, blade is insanely thin , thinner than my syn2 can't wait to try it, let you all know how it goes.

oh ya tip when ordering a pro return good idea too ask about the length usully take 2" off ended up takin 4" but it's a whip (all be it my first, wanted to try it out) so it's just a little whippier than my syn2 shaft(bummer) but has a nicer flex to it.

I have had 4 R8 lites now and before I used an XN10 for 3 years or so. I like the R8 lite more than I liked the XN10 and I thought I would never find a stick better than the XN10. They are very durable and great feel.

TPS R6 Response Armor Whip flex in the Afinogenov for me. Absolutely my favorite stick that I have ever used. Perfect balance, great whip off of wrist and snap shots, and so far....quite durable.
