Eric Belanger's XXX Stick

Recommended Posts

I've seen Thrasher's Eric Belanger with a Vapor XXX stick that has the same colours as the original XXX but its Nike/Bauer and has some logos similar to the XXX lite...Does anyone know if it just a special reproduction of the XXX or is it a custom colour XXXlite that just looks like it?

here's a pic hard to tell but it has the little monocomp technology logo near the blade like the XXX lite

I think it's just a repainted xxx lite, Gagner used it at the end of last season before he got his One90, that's just my guess because I don't know why Gagner would use the old XXX, also, Belanger once used the normal painted xxx lite for a while

From a marketing perspective why would NBH paint over a stick they are trying to move at the retail level with one they do not make anymore. It's definitely old stock. Are St. Louis' yellow synergy's painted over ST's? I think not.

that's true, I mean from NBH's point of view why would they repaint the xxx lite as an older model, but at the same time Eric Belanger I don't believe is sponsored by them (I could very easily be wrong) and I think the NHL players have more authority over the companies, companies want as many pros using their stuff, but as I said belanger used to use the xxx lite in regular paint, so it would be a pretty big change going from that to the old XXX or soemtihng older.

Belanger was one of the last guys to use the "actual" XXX and had a XXX with the NBH logo towards the end of last season. Logically, it is still an XXX, but with the current NBH logo scheme. Plus, why would they make the new XXXX look exactly like a previous model of stick?

but is it true that some guys dont use the actual XXX lites the use painted XX or sometimes even older XXX such as Belanger. i know Hossa used to use a XX painted like a XXX lite when he was sponsored by Bauer. His stick had only two x's and it was the exact same as the black vapor XX

I personally liked the XXX a LOT more than the XXXlite. I know for sure I'm not the only one... maybe some pros agree with me too ;)

balance and feel(feel in your hands as well as feel of the puck). The XXX felt rock solid, if it wasn't for the grip coating I would have bought a few when the prices on them dropped. The XXXlite felt hollow, if that makes any sense. I don't know whether it's too light or what but it felt like crap and the balance seems off on it. Not to mention the durability issues. But that's just my opinion and I know a few others that agree with me but at the same time there's plenty that love the XXXlite.

yes you can, just buy a mac daddy, although their expensive so ud probably would have to have REALLY liked the XXX to buy the mac daddy, but ive seen some XXX around and usually very cheap for that quality a stick

the older vapor XXs i had were all made in canada or mexico, and i could get 112 flex, either P88 or PM9, one of the best sticks ive used

word has it that the old Vapor sticks were made buy innovative so.. does that mean they Vapor XX =innovative 1100 = Warrior Dolomite?

As far as i know XXX = 1100 = Dolo

i thought it was Vapor XX =innovative 1100 = Warrior Dolomite and then Vapor XXX= Innovative true one = Warrior Macdaddy. i know the XX, 1100 and dolomite are fused where as the XXX, true one, and Macdaddy are all "true" one peice sticks. someone please correct me if i am wrong

Wrong, the Bauer's were comparable but made to Bauer's own spec. They weren't simply painted over Innos. Only some pro Dolomites are actual 1100's.

XXX = True- 1, not 1100. And although that would make sense to me, I've never heard about inno making the bauer sticks to bauer's specs, everytime JR or Chadd or any of them said which sticks inno's are which warrior's are which bauer's I always ended up with the impression that they were indentical sticks (obviously different paint and graphics)

When XXX Lites came out, NBH stopped the Lidstrom style pattern in North America. It is still available in Europe. Well, that didn't do me any good here in NJ. I had been using XXX in P02 Lidstrom style 77 flex. This has been my favorite OPS for feel and don't ask me why. It just feels right when stick handling and shooting. I haven't used a Warrior since I'm not going to pay full retail! Hey, I manage a pro shop and do not have a Warrior account so I'm SOL. I have used Synergy SL Grips and they feel pretty good. I have been trying to get used to a Mission Pulse Grip 85 flex. Yesterday I was practicing slapshots. The shaft snapped in two in the middle on about the 20th shot! The stick had little to no game playing time. At 5'6" 140 lbs, I couldn't believe this MPG snapped like an old woodie. I just wish I had more XXX OPS out in the garage!! Why do they always discontinue your favorite piece of equipment?
