My 7 yr old Itech bag is finally disintegrating.. looking to get a good bag to last me another 7 yrs :P

looking at either

http://www.hockeygiant.com/tpssltplrbg.html

or

http://www.hockeygiant.com/fryassocbag36.html

i see that the fury bag has some good responses.. but how bout the tps? since it's supposedly "Most popular bag in leagues/associations" according to the website..

anyone used it? does it have skate pockets?

Of those two bags, the fury by far. My association had them made an it is a great durable bag. Has a little pocket inside for phone, wallet, etc, but no skate pockets. It does have ventilation holes, and has a very durable canvas material. On the bottom, it is a thick rubber, so it is great for air travel.

EDIT: just saw that the fury says it has skate pockets, so ours must be slightly different on the inside, but the external part of the bag has great materials. Not a bad price either.

Bazli21; The Fury looks to be like my Eagle bag. It has one pocket on each end of the bag. The ling is like a hard cardboard bag at first and you'll have a hard time getting the carrier straps over your shoulder at first. But when it breakes in the bag is AWESOME!!

My only knock on the bag is where the vented ends at the bottom of the bag are have small steel wholes that are coming apart. No other damage to it though.

I bought one of the Fury bags a few months ago. It has skate pockets on the inside at each end with Velcro closures. It also has a little clear zippered enclosure on the top for a tag, I guess.

It seems to be a very heavy duty bag with good stitching and a heavy duty bottom.

i'm quite the gear whore and i must say i think we're taking things a bit too far here... just go with a fury bag for $20 and be done with it :]

i'm liking mine, (the 36" one). it's big enough and i don't miss having an accessory pocket. the fact is was $20 sold me on it.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.. i'll go with the Fury.. when ur staying half way across the planet like i am, it's not the $20 that makes the difference haha it's the shipping.. that's why i need to make sure..

Hey Baz! I've recently bought the Fury bag too, 36" in Red. Really good quality and should last a long time. You should have let me known you wanted a bag, I bought 2 but just gave away the extra one 2 weeks ago. Anyway, the bag itself is pretty heavy and they ship it in medium sized box.

Bumping an old (but informative) topic. I'm looking at bags, and getting an apartment with the GF soon so I can't take up half the basement with my hockey stuff anymore.

Does anyone just crack open their bag and point a fan at it to dry? Does that work?

Any begs with zippers and mesh that allow you the gear to air dry without removal?

And what's the purpose of ventilated skate compartments? Do people actually keep skates in their between ice times?

Thanks for the feedback. I noticed that you're producing bags now...sounds like you're doing very well!

What's the opinion on the Shock Doctor bags? I spoke with a lady who's selling one in great condition for $60. Are they worth it?

I have one of the original Shock Doctor Bags and Dryers at home. I use it for drying my equipment at home after games and another non-wheel bag to transport my equipment to and from the rink. The Shock Doctor bag I have is big, bulky and cumbersome...it take up a lot of space in the trunk and the dressing room which is why I don't use it to go to the rink (I did one tournament and it took up quite a bit of space in the dressing room). It will dry your equipment, however; it usually takes 1 and a half to 2 cycles (4-6 hours) so you have to remember to go back and give it some extra time after starting a full cycle. The knob on my blower also broke and I have to turn it on with a screw driver. It's not perfect, but it does a decent job of drying the equipment if you don't have the space to spread yours out (plus it's a little faster than air drying alone, but not that much). I've heard the later models are improved and they also make smaller versions...mine is one of the early models.

Oh, and if the $60 dollar offer includes both the bag and the blower that's a great deal as I believe the cheapest I found the blower alone was $55...they bag was another $80 or $90, but you can likely find them for much cheaper now. If it's only the bag and not the blower and it's an original model you can probably talk her down for a used bag...if it includes the blower I'd take it if you want something to throw your equipment in to dry rather than air drying your equipment.

Yeah it's for both. I don't know what generation it is, but I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. I figure it's worth a shot for 1/3 the normal price.

I think you'll like the blower bag. Ideally, vent the bag outside if you can. If I could figure out how to do that with mine, the basement would be hockey smell free.

But buy one of the defiant sport bags to carry your stuff in to and from the rink.
