Domi, nothing but class

It's getting to the point that there are just way too many stories about Domi being an idiot to totally discredit their authenticity. He was an effective player but he doesn't seem like a good person. But who knows...

Domi is a piece of shit. He demonstrated it throughout his playing career and continues to shine in instances like the one illustrated here. I've never understood why people like or admire this guy.

Im Marking this one as inaccurate:

"At about that same time, several witnesses say, Domi blasted Toronto Marlboro's peewee AAA coach Lucas Miller after the team lost 2-0 to the Toronto Red Wings in a playoff game."

If they cant get the teams right...

I love how people defend Domi's actions by saying "He does so much for charity"

Maybe, but he always makes sure that the paper/tv/radio knows he's doing charity so it gets coverage.

It;s the guys who do charity that NO ONE knows about that really make a difference. Guys like Domi do ti to offset their assholeness.

Vapor...what makes you think that is wrong. Lots of Minor hockey groups around here use NHL team names....so there is a Canadiens, Red Wings, Flyers, Sharks etc...

GaGa... what makes you think I was serious? Its a PeeWee Team.

Just seemed like an odd observation. I guess my sarcasm radar isn't working very well today.

TORONTO (Friday, April 27, 2007) - The Greater Toronto Hockey League announced today its findings and decision relating to an incident that occurred on Friday, March 30, 2007 involving Lucas Miller, Head Coach of the Toronto Marlboros Minor PeeWee team, and Mr. Tie Domi, a parent from that team.

In conducting this review, the GTHL interviewed the parties, as well as witnesses to the incident. The GTHL has concluded that Mr. Domi initiated a verbal confrontation in a secluded area of the arena that was witnessed by three adults, but his actions did not go beyond that. Nevertheless the GTHL has concluded that it was unacceptable for Mr. Domi to initiate and engage in that emotional conversation, especially given its tone and timing.

In reviewing this situation, the GTHL considered recent situations that resulted in "banning" of parents and spectators from GTHL games. Spectators/parents have been banned from arenas by the GTHL in only a few instances. Those incidents have involved: harassment and racial slurs directed toward a referee; totally lewd and inappropriate conduct; and physical harm caused to a coach by a parent. While what Mr. Domi did was regrettable, it falls short of the conduct involved in the preceding cases.

The GTHL believes that Mr. Domi should receive no benefit from the fact the he is a familiar figure in the hockey world. By the same token, he should not be treated more harshly because of that - and, given the precedents above, banning from the GTHL's arenas would in fact do that.

In this case Mr. Domi has acknowledged that his behaviour was inaapropriate, has apologized to the President of the Toronto Marlboros for his behaviour and has undertaken to both the Toronto Marlboros and the GTHL that he will in the future conduct himself appropriately at all times.

Mr. Domi has committed to assisting minor hockey in any way he can and understands that future incidents of this nature will result in more significant consequences regarding his ability to attend GTHL games.

This decision has met with approval of the Toronto Marlboros Hockey Club and Lucas Miller.

Accordingly, the GTHL has determined that this particular matter is closed and therefore no further public comment will be made by the GTHL, the Toronto Marlboros Hockey Club or Lucas Miller.
