Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 I hope they don't make another one after what I saw last night. Among the most over-hyped movies I've seen. Built up to be great, had the potential to be great, but was just poorly done. Stupid story line which seemed forced.Wasn't pleased that the theatre didn't allow me in with my cell either. Vapor 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 Pretty average movie. I will admit Spiderman is one of my least favorite "super"heros though. The movie was cheesy and just did not live up to the hype. I could name ten actors that would be on my list before I would choose Toby for Spidey too...
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 I'm not a huge fan of the actors in series, but the fact that the story line played to all of their weaknesses just helped add to the cheese factor.
Lfntn10 0 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 They tried to do too much with it, having Venom and Sandman and New Goblin in it for a 2.5 hour movie isnt enough. And I feel they did Venom no justice, although he had a fantastic fight scene. If they do make a 4th, Lizard could be the new villain.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted May 4, 2007 I'd like to see Carnage in another one and maybe a return of Venom.

DEATHTRON 19 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 Wasnt all that impressed. I thought the second one was much better. If I wouldnt have been buzzed, I might have been a bit pissed off at how long it went without some awesome action.Zach
mack 44 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 It's a rough go to have to follow-up the second movie which is by far the best comic book movie ever, but I liked this. Yes, there were more than enough parts that felt forced but Venom was done as well as I think they could have done it. Plus Dark Peter was some of the funniest shit ever, even looking like he was in the Cure.
RadioGaGa 162 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 The action sequences were pretty good...we got there half hour before start time and the place was already full...so we had to sit in the 3rd row. I don't like being that close, so some of the action was really hard to follow.Emo Parker was funny. It added to the over-the-top comic book sense of the thing. I'm glad they limited the "funny" though....could've gotten old REALLY fast. The CGI for Venon and Sandman was great. Another classic cameo for Stan Lee. 'Nuff Said!Without giving too much away...the "revelation" from the Butler was an odd scene. I thought maybe we were going to find out a little too much about Dr. Osborn...and why was the TV reporter British?I really didn't expect TWO songs and a dance number though *L*Another great performance by JK Simmons as J. Jonas Jameson. That might be the best casting in the entire series...Still lots of road left to travel in #4. (Connors/Gwen/Venom/Sandman?)Hey...how about Denis Leary as Shocker? or Electro? Jordan6969 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 This movie for me was a a bit of a disappointment. There were a lot of things wrong with this movie in my opinion such as portraying the darker side that venom gave peter parker into making him goofy and emo. It also looked a lot like they added a few scenes to make the movie make more sense to viewers after watching it like when Harry's butler talked about the glider killing his dad. The reason I think the second was beter than this one was because it strayed away from the comic book more and was not much of a story because spiderman didn't even really end up defeating the bad guys.Another thing my friend pointed out to me was that the taxi cab at the end had a texas license plate on it which doesn't really make any sense at all. Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 I was told about a couple that took a taxi from NY to Arizona so that they didnt have to put their cat in a cage in the bottom of a plane by itself. It could happen.Emo spiderman - I gotta see this movie.
mack 44 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 I will say I'm annoyed that Gwen Stacy wasn't killed. Since no one sounds keen on making a 4th I'm annoyed that her role had nothing to do with the movie other than a little jealousy.
HeatleyRules 0 Report post Posted May 5, 2007 the french guy was funny, so was the emo peter. the action was great, but overall it just didn't fit together well. needed more of venom, sandman wasn't very cool.

BuffaloKing 0 Report post Posted May 7, 2007 Venoms supposed to want to eat spideys brains! IMO venom should've been more intense. defintely got the feeling that they tried to do too much with this movie. At many times this movie felt like a big joke, and when they tried to get serious, I just wasn't into the movie enough to take it seriously. The acting felt empty at times, and the plot illogical to the point of frustration. To describe the movie in one phrase: "What the hell just happened?" Hooah4 12 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 IMO worst spidey film of the 3. They tried to jam 3 villains into one film. they did it but at the cost of the story. Ending was lame. The whole story seems like three seperate scripts mashed into one. Glad I only paid matinee price for me and the kid.
Maka 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 I thought the movie was a complete joke. Throughout the movie, the crowd in my theater kept making fun of it, which I thought was the most amusing part. The best had to be when the audience as a whole erupted in laughter whenever they tried to have a really sentimental moment.
Duder84 0 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 Fight scenes, Bruce Campbell and emo Spidey were the best parts of the movie, otherwise I found it to be dissappointing. Did anyone else get the feeling Sam Raimi did the movie this way on purpose so he could get out of making Spiderman 4?

It's going the way of the Batman films (before the latest one).
Fire0nIce228 1 Report post Posted May 10, 2007 Not to get the topic off topic, cause we all know thats bad, but are they doing another Batman movie? I thought Batman begins (i think thats the one from 2005) was a good movie, and at the end it alludes to the Joker..
