One90 pants

Recommended Posts

I saw the One90 pants for the first time in the GreatSkate catalouge and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with them and what their thoughts were in regards to comfort, durability and protection.

I've had the 8000's since they first came out. Mobility, comfort, and protection are very good. The nylon over the thigh pads is just now starting to show wear and tear from board burns. Since the One90 pant is the basically an improved 8000 (leg zippers and better abrasion resistance), They'll most likely be my next pant's purchase.

They are a nice pair of hockey pants. Very light and protective. Very much like it's cousin the Vapor XXX's. I don't see any reason not to consider them.

Is the ONLY difference between the one90 pants and the supreme70 pants (apart from one being blue inside and the other being red) the fact that the one90's have grip printing?

From looking at the specs this is the only difference i could see, but would appreciate feedback from ppl who have seen them in person. Are there any other differences?

And in all honesty, is this grip printing anything good? What does it do? And does it make the one90's really worth the extra $50 in price when compared to the supreme70's?

The padding in the one90 will be much more dense. Same distinction between XXX lite/XX, Quest 1/2, and 8000/6000.

Obviously with the padding being more dense it should improve the protectiveness, but does it make them noticeably heavier?

For no contact the One 70's would be a good bet. Go with the One 90's if your into more physical play. It's a pro level pant hence the denser padding.

Dont sweat the weight of the One90's. These things are extremely light. I love my Tackals but these make it hard to not wip out your card and just get'em. NBH did an AWESOME job with these.

Sounds good. Next stop to my LHS is probably going to break the bank... I need new pants, skates, and shoulders. Does anyone know THE difference between the XXX Lite and the One90 pant, though?

They are a different cut pant...the XXX Lite is kind of tapered going down to your knees and the one90 is a little more loose fitting. I didnt like the tight diaper feel of the XXX Lite so I went with the 90.

I went to my nearest hockey store today to check out the one90 pants and there was something really odd about them. For a start i first noticed that they didnt seem to be the same as one90s i've been seeing on the internet and in the check it out thread because there were no thin white stripes on them. Secondly there seemed to be an excessive amount of velcro across the front of the legs starting at the bottom and going as far up as past halfway. Finally the NikeBauer logo was placed about 3/4s of the way up the leg too. They were definitely not the same pair of pants that I was expecting them to be.

Since i live in Sydney, are these pants just a totally different pair of pants labelled as one90's for our area? I've noticed similar things with mission skates being labelled different names. If so has anyone else noticed this? What pants are these?

If you suspect there is something not quite right jonow3 trust your instincts and leave them alone. Chances are someone has doctored the pants to make a quick buck and you'll be left holding the bag. Go look elsewhere to be positive your getting what your looking for.

There is a good chance that these pants were made for a pro team and the velcro is used to attach the advertising patches the teams would use. This would also explain why the logo has been moved so that when the patches are on the shorts the logo is still visable

That's what it sounds like - prostock pants for an European team.

They were made for skating billboards.

Thanks heaps for all the feedback guys. It wasnt exposed velcro, it was more like an entire panel of the pants on the front of the legs could be removed and then either adjusted or replaced by something else. So yea I never thought of that but it does sound like they may have been specially made for a team. Just strange that these pants would end up in Australia. So just to be sure, if I ordered a pair off hockey giant, they wouldn't be the velcro covered version would they?

They also seemed REALLY stiff, do they break in?

i haven't had any hands on experience with the pants but i heard from a shop that they had a piece of plastic on the back of the pant toward the bottom of each leg and some people were finding it uncomfotable/ restricting, has anyone here felt that as well?
