one 90 vs SE

Recommended Posts

I was at my LHS last Saturday and they had the SE and the one90 going for about the same price (the one90 was only 5 bucks cheaper, but with tax, that makes a difference). I'm hearing mixed things about the SE. Pros is that its balanced, whippier shaft, durable. However I hear the blade seems kinda dull. The one90, I barely hearing anything about at all. I came off a Vapor XXX-lite before it broke (I used an 05 Stealth currently for about a month), and I loved the way the blade felt on it. However, I question its durability and wonder if its like the Vapor XXX-lite in terms of its blade feel. Any input would be great. Thanks.

STAY AWAY FROM THE SE.Seriously easton has always been my choice of OPS and i recently moved away from them after going trew all my charity Se under 3 month.Normally i dont brake a OPS under 4 month of use or so.But the SE has a worst durablility of any EASTON ops i know even the SL.Go with the one90 its a pretty good stick i have a 87 flex lindros and its still goibng strong after 2 months and very well balanced.

Anyway its not a diss at EASTON but they took a step back with this OPS.The only good thing about it its looking good but for the rest stay away from it.

are you kidding? please tell me you are. I used to use the SLs all the time and for durability I'm giving them a 2 out of 10, those heels on the blades would crack and fray after about 3-5 uses. I just Bought the SE after staying away from Easton for almost a year now. This SE feels lighter than the SL although the same weight, the blade is much stronger and more solid...feels alot like the Checkered Dolomite blade. I have been using it for about 4 days straight with around 20-30 hours on the stick and not any problem at all. I went to drop in and had a kid STEP on the blade and he fell over the blade took a nice knick into it, however very strong. Durability of this stick so far, I'm going 9 out of 10. I would definitely get the SE over the ONE90, I have seen more of the ONE90's break (they have been out longer) than the SE's. This Easton OPS is the best to date.

Your gonna take advice from someone who can barely 'type' english?

Razr i am serious.I play 5 time a week so yes i do play a lot.I am not a hack and slash player at all.I play hard but i am gentle on stick normally. But those SE are a POS tom ME!

Maybe its because it was the 1 st batch (i got them in early feb) and i can tell you all three broke at the blade near the heel. The blade on my brother SE became so soft after 5 game it was rediculous.

I am glad to know that your is still going strong but for me THAT easton model is by far the less resistant OPS i ever took. But the weight and grafix where on the spot.

I use both. If you are looking Durability-wise, choose one90. I'm not saying that the one90 is super durable. Comparing to the SE, one90 is much better. However, if you are looking Feel-wise, choose SE. I believe that the one90 is okay, but SE is slightly better.

Come on guys, using one stick yourself does not indicate anything about durability. Who knows, it could have been overflexed by some a$$whipe in the store before you bought it, or slashed, whatever. Give the masses a chance to use the stick, if it has bad durability, it will be known pretty quick. One or two guys on a board who happen to break a stick, is not "evidence". You have to have a much larger sample size than that. Based on your method, I have sold 6 of these to guys on my team and all have held up perfect, so I guess it's a perfect stick and durability is great. Not. Can't go by what I say either, let's wait till the stick has been out for a while and many people have used it before we come to any conclusions.

Got mine direct from easton jimmy ;). Hope no one is flexing those.

Mine said "SL" on the inside as well, so I did not have super igh expectations.

Exactly, the sample source needs to be greater than 5 people saying "durability sucks."

And even if everyone is telling you durability sucks you're still going to have oddballs that say durability is great... example: XXXlite.

I think quiet a few people on this board jump on bandwagons pretending to have used every product and say what the last person said, it's very sad as it means people can get scared away from a product before many people have really used it.

I'm not implying anyone specifically but this also goes for polls aswell where people can't help but vote I think most things need to be taken with a pinch of salt.

i wouldnt suggest either. broke my one90 in 2 months and the SE in 3 weeks.. both on the blade. but if your set on one of these, get the one90

I love my SE, I don't know what I would get other than it at the moment. I hate the Bauer sticks... the XXX has feel but no long term durability and the ONE90 has terrible feel (for me) and better durability. The best stick I've ever used was this Easton or the Kronik.

Alias81 the only reason so many have used them is because a lot of us participated in the easton toydrive and we got those stick kinda free.SO the 3 i broke did not cost me a lot to be honest, and a funny thing i had 3 stealth from the previous toy drive and i still have one in wrapper and i broke one and i still play with the other.

Anyway i really hope we did get a bad batch because it would be a stap back from the prime or 2nd best OPS compagny.

Your going to find people who love both sticks and have no problems with them. Your also going to have people who had bad experiences both sticks, just like every stick. Don't listen to the people who say they broke 4 in one game or have some BS story like that. You won't know what will work best for you until you try them.

I actually wound up picking up the SE, they had the drury pattern and I really wanted to use that at least once. I also chose it because I had good luck with my SL, in fact its not even broken, so my expectations for the SE seem a little more higher on the durability side then the Nike/Bauer (since I broke the XXX-Lite). So far, the stick does have a nice feel to it, i like it better than the Stealth CNT's concave shaft, and the blade seems a little thicker down at the bottom. Hopefully this stick serves me well, I consider it as my done with my first year of college present since I bought it with the money I spent selling my books haha.

Thanks for all of your input guys.
