Dolomite shaft... What blade?...

Recommended Posts

Anyone here found a balanced blade for a Dolomite shaft? I am not interested in a dolomite blade cause their lies are too low. I use a Rbk Sickick blade and it feels a little blade heavy. Anyone have better luck?

With the dolomite shaft did you get the clear or the nipple grip? I have a quick question about the grip on this stick. For the '07 models, does the nipple grip have the ridges on the shaft AS WELL as a tacky style of grip say like the xxx-lite? Also does the clear version (the green coloured dolomite) have any grip at all, like a clear tacky grip, or is it just like a normal shaft? Thanks

Nipple grip has no tacky grip.

The Clear has no grip as well.

The "soft grip" has grip.

Thank you very much. Appreciate it!

I have tried the nipple grip and I don't know if I'm retarded or not but it seems like there is a tacky "XXXlite" grip on top of the nipples. Anyone else have this feeling? And for the original question, try a Reebok 6k or the Sherwood Composite blade I mentioned earlier.

their lies are just like anyone elses, they just number them differently. They are roughly 1/2 to 1 full number lower than Easton's.

Any LHS worker's know if the Sherwood's are lighter in weight than the Rbk's?

And if anyone knows, how light are the Christain custom wood blades compared to a normal composite blade?

Warrior lies are not accurate, what curve do you use now?

My customs are as light as any blade that I've used.

Glad to hear that. I was thinking of getting the Christian custom blades but was curious about the weight. I know I had asked you before but was still curious.

I currently am using a Rbk Sickick, Datsyuk pattern. I would prefer something with a little less curve more towards the toe. I used a Warrior Pro Stock Sharp pattern and loved it, but the lie was off so the wrist shots weren't very good.

I'd advise agaisnt any RBK blade...they become flimsy so fast it's rediculous.

I second the flimsiness. My 6k got the sound of shattered composite blades after 2 weeks, you know, that crunching sound when you hit the puck. I don't know about any of you, but I find that the Dolomite blade is better than all of the others in terms of durability, consistency, and balance with a Dolomite shaft.

i'm using a Kovalev blade with my Dolomite shaft, and the balance is awesome. but like said earlier, their lies are just off. it just doesn't feel right at all to me. i'll be going back to a Synergy II Drury here pretty soon.

Remman: Could you upload a picture to www.pictiger.com and post it in here please?

I've been thinking about buying the Sickick Datsyuk RB for some time, is it the same construction as the 5K blade (in just a tapered version) or different?

Think I've read some posts previously that the Warrior Robitaille and Rbk Datsyuk are the same curve, any truth in that?

Thanks!

I believe the Robitaille is a little deeper and is a 5 lie, whereas the Datstyuk is a 6. The 5k is not tapered and has a little longer hosel. I would imagine the '07 5k models are a little more durable.

In terms of flimsiness, I had a big problem with the 5k but the sickick is a few months old and still pretty solid.

Do you want a close-up picture? Any hockey equipment site has decent pics. It will take a little beings I am out of town and don't have it. I may be getting rid of the extra one I have soon.

I am currently using an Easton Synergy II Iginla blade with a Dolo shaft. The balance is very good but, of course, this is personal preference. I also spray painted the blade with gloss black for looks.
