skate dryers

Recommended Posts

Put your stuff on a rack in front of a $20 box fan. Hell, you can even leave it on the floor in front of the fan if you want and save the money by not buying a rack. The important thing is to not add heat and only use room temperature air.

i use the dryer for my gloves and skates , thats it

its too long too wait for the room temp. air to dry it especially when i have got to ref/and or play in an hour

not only that, i have vapor XXX's and im told they should be garbage by now and i have had them for almost a year and a half and because i dry them after every use they are holding up pretty well

same wit my gloves, they barely, if at all stink

hey chadd ............why not add heat?

hey chadd ............why not add heat?

Promotes bacteria growth and can make glove palms crusty.

kewl thanx chadd

i knew bout the krusty palms but never heat them that much

same wit the skates u only want to accelerate the drying not dry them out

but it is def handy for me as a ref and player when i have games back to back or in the same day

not too mention it helps wit the length of life of the equipment even if only slightly

I played in a 24 hour charity game a few years in a row and used to bring a heavy-duty fan into the locker room with me. We would skate one game on and one game off for 24 hours and that off time was enough for most of my stuff to dry out using nothing more than a fan moving a large amount of room-temperature air.

I like having a timer for the dryer.

1. Get a a wall socket timer(at Home Depot or whatever) and plug big fan into it.

2. I bought a real one on the auction site for like $30 shipped. It has timer, no heat, low and high heat options. (high heat was nice in the winter to warm my shoes before I left ;) )

I take everything out of my bag and put the ceiling fan on full blast, not only is everything dry in less than 8 hours but the only thing that ever starts to smell are my gloves.
