precursor

why girdles are good

Recommended Posts

Ah, the invincibility of youth...

I wear a girdle and pants and still manage to fall on my butt where's there no/little padding. I also drop down to block shots and there's no way I could imagine doing it without any padding.

See the Thorax Girdle...That would work for you...The padding is removable as well, you can taylor the location of where you want it...

I had one teammate when I played CRHL who wore one elbow pad on his right arm (he was a left shot.) He said whenever he fell, he always fell on that side.

Ohh that new Thorax looks sweet! Thanks for the pic Justin!

I can definitely vouch for the comfort of the previous thorax advantage. Its pretty much like wearing compression shorts with padding in key places. You never know its on.

They annoy the hell out of me. I know it is "dumb", but its the chance I take.

Yah, same here. I just started playin without elbow pads and it feels so much better. It's a risk I am willing to take.

There are some really excellent high end, light weight elbow pads that will only help if you do the elbow point thing, with nothing on the forearms or upper arm.

There are no pads, helmets or anything pick up games around here, but EVERYBODY has anything from nothing to shins or elbows or full gear, depending on who's playing and how intense it's going to get, or each player's paranoia/foresight. When the pros have on their shin guards, it's wise to pad up a bit.

For instance, I was wearing my new Nike elbow pads that are smaller and lighter with lycra across the inner elbow for no chaffing, and loving them. The day I chose not to, (lots of shin pads) I got slashed with a notched blade top on my forearm. Very 3D bump with a gouge running through it. No foresight.

I'm wearing them again. Very light and comfortable, and just the thing. Foresight.

I almost always wear my Thorax girdle. I'm bony and I've even gotten light hip pointers through the hard stuff. Against harder stuff.

Hey someone wants to not wear any protection I say let them...

Ain't it funny how nature weeds out the weak and stupid?

Funny thing about guys who refuse to wear gear is that they're usually the ones who come off the floor ready to fight after an incidental collision, or the first ones to snivel about a slash any time a stick so much as touches their legs. Like Grandpa used to say, you can find 'sympathy' in the dictionary between '**it' and 'syphilis'.

i dont wear girdles for inline, but youd be crazy not to wear elbow pads!

Everytime i stack it, i sorta roll it off and wind up with my arms taking the brunt of the fall. Smashed an elbow through pads once too! and with that ill always use elbows and tell everyone else too
