RBK helmet cage

Recommended Posts

I HATE CAGES!!!!

I like to see my feet.

To my knowledge... RBK has no standard cage.

Since RBK owns CCM, I would expect a CCM cage to fit.

I personally feel that ANY cage will work and would go with the newer NBH's.

the cage that comes with the 6k looks like a cross between the standard jofa/ccm cage that 90% of people have, and the older jofa with the stationary chin cup held in by rivets, and a hard plastic cup. obviouslty that would work. when i wore a cage i used the ccm cage, it worked fine but it was just a touch to narrow so when you have it on, the cage gets stuck on the ear loop attachment parts, which makes it diffacult to get off.

My son wears a 6K with a NBH8500 oval and it fits him fine. Get what fits the helmet and your face, so you can see.

The RBK cages have been recalled. Don't know if you got any at Roch/H20 but the proshops had to send them back.

My 8500 cage barely fits my 692 helmet it's a bit wide and barely makes it into the j-clips. The 8000 fits the helmet just as good as my old ccm cage(fm480).

Just a quick note: helmet and cages are all a size large, results may vary, size dependant ;)

What is wrong with them?

Try the Itech VIII Titanium cage! It's half as light as a normal cage, and won't rust.

OK so...near 200$ for the 8k, 135$ for the Titanium cage...a 335$ cage/helmet combo!

I still find it stupid that a cage would sell at a higher price than any piece of equipment...maybe not skates....or gloves...or RBK 8k helmet.

I( had that this yr... once you get the cage on correctly it works really well but the screws on the Titanium cage end up breaking the plastic clips on the cage if you are playing contact.... not a good view but: Helmet.jpg

I really liked that cage, if it wasn't black I'd still be wearing that over my 8500. The only thing that does it for me with the 8500 is the color.

Go with the CCM/Jofa FM 480 cage. Nothing better for vision, lightness and protection, in it's price range, on the market. If you have a few extra bucks to throw away and don't mind paying a premium price, go with the Itech titanium cage. It's a little too rich to pay for a cage for my blood but it it where a bit cheaper that would be my next choice.

Just get the Fantom stainless steel...same cage, a bit heavier but rust-proof.
