Sprungster 5 Report post Posted May 29, 2007 I saw the new '08 RBK lineup at the AAU Finals this weekend at Anaheim Hockey Club. They had the 7,8, and 9K's on display in the RBK/CCM booth. They're entirely different from anything I've seen before, and very sexy. They are mostly gray and black with a ribbon of color/texture that starts in a loop at the top of the tendon guard in back and sweeps down each side to the front of the boot. The outside of the loop and the sweep is blue and the the inside half is gray on the 9K. Both sides of the accent are gray on the 8K and the 7K has ruby red on the outside and gray on the inside. The overall appearance is black with the color crossing diagonally toward the front. Some of the outside panel on all three is ribbed, sort of like on Grafs. The inside arch panels are gray laid glass with a logo pattern printed on them. I didn't have a camera, but I bet some phone pics left the building. It'll be interesting to see how my memory was. Has anybody else seen them anywhere?
Rick 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2007 Keith, Great Skate has had some of the 4's (ice skates) and the 1's I think on their web page for a while and they look pretty wild. The 4's appear to be gray and black with a lime green trim color that would look sweet with a Sprung frame with lime green rockers or wheels. Rick Henry This is the skate I was talking about. It is a 3K instead of 4K but I still think it would be sweet with a Sprung frame. Rick Henry

top-shelf 1 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 Yeah, seriously. This is just my opinion, but I think those skates are ugly; especially if those are the new models. Its got cheesey written all over it.
TheSnake22 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 those models came out this past winter/spring and they're not the top of the line skates... haven't seen the inlines but hopefully they're far less atrocious...
Rick 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 Guys, I never said that they were the top of the line skates they are 3K's, but I don't think they look that much different than most of the other flashy new skates on the market. I have always skated in more traditional looking skates but its funny how the younger kids, pre-teens like my oldest son, seem to really like the flashy skates. shute 4 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 i don't care of they are not top of the line rbk skates if that is ANYTHING close to what the top of the line rbk skates will look like then someone over there must of been high when they designed those skates. i've seen a lot of fugly skates before but this... TheBert 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 maybe it's just the angle, but is that a pretty shallow boot?
Rick 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 I would like to see that boot with a Sprung frame. Rick Henry
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 Looks like the chassis have the O-tech technoloy on them. ;)
philcaz 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 those look nice, those soles look to be very thin and yea the chassis' have holes in them somewhat odd
Datsyukiandeek 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 Chassis wouldn't last a month if I used it. Is it really necessary to hack away a few ounces from the most important part of the skate?
kovalchuk71 212 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 They are very nice, But I would probably black the chassis and the red stripe out. Those would be sick.
jmiro 55 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 when are these going to be available at retail?

TheSnake22 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 i like them too but it's too bad my foot would never fit into anything that shallow... curious about the frames too...
Sprungster 5 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 They are very nice, But I would probably black the chassis and the red stripe out. Those would be sick. The 8Ks had gray where the red is. It's the one that a lot of players liked best. Personally I really like the red. A black Sprung with the same red for the hardware would be very sweet. wk_style 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 Anyone know how much these are gonna run? And also what the comparison from these 9k roller boots to the 9k ice boots are? I was thinking of taking a pair of 9k ice and putting aftermarket mission chassis on them when available.Any help with be appreciated. Thanks
Fury of One 6 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 I think I'm gonna start saving up for these. Love the look of them. Chassis is odd though, one slap shot to those might destroy 'em but who knows? Have to wait and see.
wickedlite44 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 looks like a 72-76-76-80 setup, it also looks like it has a high center of gravity as well.
DaveTheWave 0 Report post Posted June 7, 2007 RBK really stepped it up in the aesthetics department. I can't wait to hear about how it performs...
